[WIP] Storage

Firstly the name is not final :stuck_out_tongue: just an idea.
Anyways

About a month ago i tried mapping but radiant hated me, i had transparent walls and everything. but i enjoyed it so i thought i would have another go…
so here are some screens of what i have done so far and some info on what the objectives will probally be.

These forums have soooo much helpfull info :cool:

IDEAS:
The allies parachute near to the entrance of an underground axis storage facility where guns, ammunition and vehicles are kept. Also there is some secret prototype documents :open_mouth:

The allies much force their way into the main storage hanger, by blowing either 2 entrances.
They must then destroy the generator inside the storage room.
Destroying the generator opens up the back garage.
The allies must then take the prototype documents also in the main storage hanger, out the back garage, over a vast terrain, infiltrate the axis surface base and transmit the documents.

Allied Primary Objectives
Breach the main hanger
Blow the generator
Steal and transmit the documents

Allied Secondary Objectives
Build the Command Post
Capture and hold the forward spawn

Axis Primary Objectives
Defend the main hanger
Defend the generator
Prevent the documents being transmitted

Axis Secondary Objectives
Build the command post
Capture and hold the forward spawn

What’s wrong with the lights? :???:

It looks as the whole preview has not lightstage, untill you start looking at a few pitch-black places… Can we help in that matter?

Very good indeed for a first map. :slight_smile:

A little more variance in textures would do much good to the map IMHO.

You might want to press ‘S’ and bring up the texture scaler thingy. Scale the ceiling texture up so it doesnt look tiled. Looking good for a first map.

Looking great, especially for your first map…really looks like you put some thought into how the battles and gameplay will progress. It definitely looks like it would be a fun map to play. Don’t give up on this one!

Ok, been busy, but here is a screen, no sky just yet :stuck_out_tongue:
Oh and about the lighting, Ambient works a charm, gives it a nice feel

I do have a problem though :open_mouth:

my lift has the func_door, but i also want to make it dynoable so i did, and i worked!

but

Now func_door is obsolete and doesnt work. How do you add two funcs to one group of brushes?

You can only add one func to a group of brushes.
But you could make a brush on the floor in front of the door the “func_explosive”.
I think it has already been discussed here in the forums.
As far as I remember the map “Bergen” (not sure if it’s the correct name) has a dynamitable door at the side entrande.

I know you said the name was not final yet but just for your info there are a couple of maps that have a similar name such as Storage_dm_A2 and store house and store room, if you look at the map list on SplatterLadder it lists probably all the maps for ET at the moment.

Just thought i would pass this on before you get to comfy with the name because I’m sure you want your map to stand out from the crowd not be mistaken for one that could be very poor in comparison.

Storage_dm_A2 Is actualy this map, but a deathmatch alpha version of the just the inside of the base my clan play occasionaly on our private server.

I had a feeling that was too close not to be related somehow, i just saw it because it is close to my map St Nazaire in the listings.

Oh well, have a nice weekend and keep up the good work.

I wish I was not up to my eyes in structural design equations for college, It will be over soon then I can start on the map that i have had in my head for so long.
