I do like the new trinkets considerably more, and the reduced grinding is great, but it feels somewhat anticlimactic for what it is. At least last year we got special edition cases, it would be cool if there was something more unique.
Not that I dislike this event. But well, I want my christmas sweater mercs.

Worse, only because the trinkets to me are kind dumb. I’m not really into Internet meme’s… so they really don’t interest me. I’ll collect them all anyway though… 
EDIT: I like the new coaly for the visual aesthetic, and that’s it.

Yep. Doesn’t bring anything interesting to the table, but doesn’t hurt either so, fine I guess.

I think its worse than the dickens one. However, from what i understand, they did not originally plan to do a Christmas event this year. this is what i imagined happened…
I think they saw all the various posts where people wanted a Christmas event. then they had a meeting and realized they should probably create at least something for Christmas. Then they saw the date and realized this was going to be a rush job and that they did not enough time to do something like last years event. Then they quickly made some trinkets, set up the trinket hunt, and made it so you get a case each day. And then released it because they where literally out of time.
I think that considering their time constraints and resources in that time limit, i think it’s…meh (i’m not a fan of half of the trinkets).But, they tried to do their best, in a very rushed job. I appreciate their effort, whether it’s hit or miss for the player base

I won’t lie, I didn’t expected “meme” trinkets to come in, and the last christmas event was originally way better due to it having both loadout skins and some pretty nice trinkets.
Objectively, that event is worse than the last one, and I have to admit that those “meme” trinkets make me cringe a bit. But in the end I don’t mind at all. After all, it’s all free stuff. You don’t have to spend a single dime to earn any item from the event, and that’s actually pretty nice in my opinion.

where’s the both are terrible option? cards last year looked hideous and same goes for the trinkets this year.
altough the servers last year were far better than the current servers so I guess I preferred last years event just for different reasons.

The event was better last year. But there production quality of the promotion videp is way better it seems like there getting better at promoting events while scaling back on the event it self.

Mixed feelings, I hope for future special currency events with trinkets. I loved the whole rogue en vogue event and loved the skins as a tech guy, but I seriously didn’t like these Christmas meme ones, even if they’re easier to get, I’d rather if the 2015 Christmas trinkets were re-released instead or along the meme ones.

While I didn’t care for the last years skins and I don’t care about this years trinkets, last year felt way more appropriate as an “event”.
