Winning needs to be more rewarding

(GlobalWar) #1

Yesterday I won a few rounds (not thanks to me btw as I suck) but still I was happy winning.
What I fell was when the game is over there is not enough SOLDIER YOU WON THE BATTLE YOU ARE THE FREAKING BEST!! Instead of that we had a “hard time” finding out who won the game

Winning needs to be clear and rewarding while loosing should hurt a bit (not to much).

A huge VICTORY on my screen with the right music will do the trick I guess.

ET:QW style end of map messages would be nice, you get some dude at start of the map telling you stuff so be good for him to congratulate you if you win or ridicule you if you lose

ETQW was spot on for me, really liked the humour when I failed again.

I got eaten by the Macron a lot…

I’d like to be shown a little section of my own private per-game stats relating only to me during the end game screen.

Something along the line of this:

Yep, we’re well aware that the reward and feedback loop is missing from the end of matches, we have a goal to try and fully address that in the next month or two and you should see changes related to that trickle in during that period.

Free XP for all! :stroggbanana::stroggbanana::stroggbanana:

Also during the match a much clearer “YOU KILLLED <COLOURED NAME>” as well as "YOU REVIVED <COLOURED NAME> like in the ET games.

It’s not relevant for winning but it is emotionally important.

(GlobalWar) #7

And what about a direct link to Social Media?

(UJERebel) #8

No, please No social media. Or at least completey disableable. I don’t need my fb spammed with game stuff

Agreed ^^^^

I think some visual antidotes in a small window on the screen would be awesome. Say an overview cam of the replay of the last objective being completed or some highlights of the biggest kill streaks in the shortest amount of time.

We had a topic on the main SD forums about the game picking some achievements at random and using them to highlight a player or particular moment during the game. By being random/unknown you’d offset people going all out to to get say, the most kills, and screwing up the match because of it, but it would still give something fun to see at the end of the match. Maybe award a “bounty” to those who star of a few extra coins or something.

In the background I guess you could get funky and only select the reward based on actual data comparison across all active games. So you may get “XXXX Scores most kills on Waterloo so far today” or “Team Blue won with only 1 second on the clock”. Giving people an option to save off these moments would be neat too.

I definitely think putting some extra effort into the end-rewards without skewing the goal of the game would be greatly encouraging towards getting people amped up for the next round. I’d be supportive of almost anything like that.

(tokamak) #13

Yes, every time you get killed the game posts a killcam screenshot to your Facebook timeline, now there’s an incentive not to die too often.

(mitsuhiko) #14

Kilstagram.

(Dthy) #15

Killr. #chars

(Pytox) #16

Maybe you get a bomb dropped on your head if you fail?

(tokamak) #17

You know that’s even better. Something ridiculous like this would be a nice gimmick, a marketing strategy.
