So let me get this straight. Objectively Bloshlok just suck balls. Period. I love the gun and I’m using it a lot, but it just sucks balls compared to every other SMG.
It has a low DPS, lowest firerate of all SMGs. But. But it has probably the histest vertical recoil which is nearly as big as the one of M4.
So it either needs a higher firerate, a higher damage per shot or much lower vertical recoil.
Will we get a Blishlok buff?
It really does need work. I have no clue why they have been so resistant to buffing it.
I get what they were aiming for with this gun…but it just doesn’t really work well in a fast paced game like Dirty Bomb. Firstly, the idea of low fire rate, but high damage is already kind of weird for an SMG, a fast-firing gun made to maintain headshots and kill in mere seconds. Since the Blishlok is also an SMG, the same rule should’ve been applied, but constant headshots are proving to be quite a challenge, even for advanced players. Sure 3 headshots = dead 80-100 HP mercs, but considering low health mercs are already super speedy, good luck getting those heads popping!
Possible changes: Probably a higher fire rate and a tiny lower vertical recoil to compensate for the first change. Damage was never the problem with this gun.
Because obviously they were busy buffing Nader and the Hochfir.

Higher damage per shot would not change anything unless you make the Blishlok deal 20 damage per shot, which would be insane IMO. The way to go for me is a RPM buff from 400 to 415 or 420, which both bumps the DPS slightly and makes the gun slighly easier to use.
They might want a weaker gun to give certain characters in the event of super potent abilities.
That’s my guess anyway.
@Sir_Slam
But Sparks, for example, just have a secondary, secondary, and a super potent ability.
So I don’t think Blishlok is saved for “peashooter to compensate the rocket launcher”. Oh wait…
- Buff it’s fire interval to 133 from 150, this will boost it’s dps
- Change the dot sight to an actual freaking dot, that also changes color based on what color the player’s crosshair is. Like I use a red dot for my crosshair, so the sight would be red as well.
- Give this gun, AND EVERY OTHER FUCKING GUN a recoil pattern, first 4 shots go straight up, then curve to the right then back to the left in a sort of wave shape.

The first one is the buff I kept talking about for decades. The two other changes are also really welcomed. Seriously, those changes do not look like a big deal. They’re just perfect and could pretty much make the Blishlok on par with other weapons.
Blishlok is deadly in it’s current spot.
(Buff at your own risk SD)
But other guns are more deadly with less effort.

Then your choice of gun is clear. (like the title says)
For me personally the blishlok is easier to handle and the more effective choice.

I agree with you. The blishlok is a nice gun and I perform well with it, but we judge subjective. And Objectively the Blishlok is a pretty poor gun.

I like it, but still think objectively, as I said above.
You seem to forget that some guns SHOULD be worse than the others in order for them to be given to mercs with strong(er) abilities. That’s the current game model they are pushing, or at least appears to be their goal.
Other option would be to have clone-balanced weapons and balance the mercenary skills around that, but that would defeat the purpose of even having multiple weapons rather than one generic smg, one generic AR etc. I wouldn’t mind that either to be honest.
That doesn’t make sense, why do Phantom, Bushwhacker and Sawbonez get the Blishlock and 2 other superior smgs? I agree that not all weapons can be equally as good, but they should at least be good for specific situations/playstyles.

How about aura or fletcher having access to kek10 or any other proper smg apart the blishlok ?
There would be little reason to pick any other engineer over fletcher in that case for example considering how strong sticky bombs are.

They are harder to use than a turret.
Aura is a good stationary medic, but that’s it. If you need to move more, you’re better with Soboz or Peenix.
And yes. If it was designed to be a “Weak-merc gun”, Phantom, Sawbonez and Bushwhacker wouldn’t get it. But Proxy would for example.

I don’t see anything wrong with that. Fletcher is balanced for weird reasons, stickies are too powerful but he only gets ass primaries. Plus Proxy gets Hochfir and it’s an amazing weapon.
Objectively it’s proven itself, that why I prefer it.

I believe you misunderstand “objectively”.
