Three times now, I’ve received the exact same bad (imho) Proxy loadout that I’ll never use from one-off event cases. It feels awful; I want to be able to use and/or enjoy using my ‘precious’ event loadouts. Getting an undesirable loadout from one event case cuts, and getting a second one is vinegar in the wound… Three consecutive times? I’m ready to give up on participating in events at this rate, and those are most of what keeps me playing DB after all this time. There’s gotta be a better way to go about distributing these event loadouts… Even if it’s literally just adding a rule that prevents you from receiving the same loadout consecutively. Please, something needs to change.
Will we ever get a better solution to one-off event cases like Cyber Eye than a random loadout?
I got almost the same trio :’(
We should at least be able to use weapon kits when opening cases like those.

Wait shouldnt humble bundle be pre rev there shouldnt be a bandage
That’s a know bug still to be fixed. From the 1st edition crafting week notes:
Known Issues
- Special Edition Proxy Loadout Cards released before the introduction of Second Edition Loadout Cards still have her ‘bandaged’ look. In a future update, we’ll be changing these to her original, two eyed look.
It also affects the Beta Fighter Obsidian by the way…
I have the same goddamn Rhino card from S2 and S3 cases
Rhino
Please be grateful

omg rip in pepperoni. Those are all terrible proxies. all of them.
Yep, and that awful Cobalt Proxy is one I used all my long-time saved up fragments to craft in the Gen 1 week… I should have just used them to try and get a Gen 2 Power Operative or Turbo Operative ;^;
At least I can use the Rogue en Vogue and Humble Bundle Elite Operatives since the Hochfir is my favourite gun, but they’re still not great either – I mainly just use my original Gen 1 Cobalt Supreme Operative, which is really my best ‘special’ loadout. I mean, I have a gold Gen 2 Power Operative, but given all the higher tier cards I have, I’d really rather show them off. Shame they’re all disappointing.

Making it so special skins are unlockables that can be used with any loadout you have, not tied to a single one.
But yeah, right, sure they’re going to give away their biggest cashgrab, right after showing they’re just going further into it with the new “get 10 elite cases to get 2 special edition cards only” thing.

This thread is about the unique special edition skins, not the regular event skins.
Everyone can get a maximum of one each of those (might be just the last one, I haven’t been around for so long), and it’s still random. And that’s the problem, because you aren’t likely to get a top tier loadout, so you use a more common one, although you bought a unique event skin. That has nothing to do with putting money in the event, it’s just unnecessary RNG.
And about the elite case bundles; I agree, they should sell event cases separately, but since they’re far from a must-have (even if you want a few event skins, you just play the game) I won’t complain

I know, and what I said in what you didn’t quote applies to that - special skins being an unlock you can “wear” on any loadout you have. The part you quote was simply my reasoning on why nothing will happen.
@BloodySin That wasn’t clear for me from how you’ve phrased it.
Maybe because IMO the two kinds of event skins should be treated differently;
The unique ones you can chose (at least the weapon)
The simple event skins you have to open from some case. (Raising the drop chances would be welcome, but making it unnecessary to collect more than a few event skins would remove some thrill from the events, not to mention the need for some to by cases.)

I mean all non-regular skins, be them a one-case per player or a larger event like Shell Shock. It would still mean 20 skins to collect (at the moment), and would be much more acceptable with the ridiculously low chances you have on cases you pay money for - 1-in-20 of getting the skin for the merc you want, instead of 1-in-20-in-9-plus-repeats.

their biggest cashgrab
After receiving such event cards would I want to spend craptop of money to get another probably similar one? - not a chance in hell !
Unless they roll out separate skin \ loadouts, and that’s not just my opinion I believe.
Goddamnit. It’s the one loadout i want and can’t ever get in shiny get-up and you keep on getting it.

Plot twist - they will only work on Cobalts.
at least it wasnt the same loadout… in the same event skin…
every time i look through my inventory and see those two damn eagle naders, i cry softly

Even this would be fine by me honestly – it would stop event skins from making Cobalts less valuable, since said Cobalts would be required to use the event skins. It would also be a decent half-way point between getting lucky with the loadouts you want and not getting fucked over for the event skins, in that it still takes some luck/investment to get the loadout you want, but you don’t miss out on being able to enjoy your event skins. Maybe even if event skins came in the form of an item that you fuse with your Cobalts to replace them with an event-skinned version of that loadout.
They don’t have to make it as simple as being able to straight up choose and receive whatever event loadout you want, but this entirely-RNG reliant method they currently use is just ridiculous and honestly unfair.
