Will there be a stat reset for launch?

What will happen to the characters of the people playing pre-release copies of the game? Will they be able to keep their unlocks and levels achieved before launch? Does this not give an unfair advantage to people who choose to download and play illegitimate copies of the game before release? If there is a stat reset when will it happen? What platforms will be affected? How will SD reconcile the discrepancies between the NA and EU release dates?

The answers to all of these questions affect those of us who are legitimate, obedient, patient, paying customers.

All character data is stored client-side, so I doubt it’s possible.

First, not all the copies out a bit early are illegal so you would be resetting legit stats as well, which is unfair to other paying customers. Second it is only a couple days head start and doesn’t matter in the long term over the life of the game. Third, they are not going to put US stat keeping on hold until EU gamers can start at the same date, noone does that. Lastly and most importantly stats are not that important to many people who will play this game.

I can’t see them doing a ladder/stat reset because a few people played the game a couple days early.

There’s no reset planned. Do bear in mind that you can set matchmaking to not let people with a higher rank than you into your game, so there’s an easy fix for that.

I’d be more worried about the hours of pratice on the maps than xp differential

I don’t think that should be an issue.

  1. I mean no matter what, you are never going to be the first one in the game. There will always be people more experienced.
  2. It’s highly unlikely that you will meet those people seeing how there aren’t that many of the peope who got the game early. Post people who pirated probably won’t be online.
  3. You can train in offline first. I will probably play through SP before going online which means I will known all the maps.

Edit: I thought you meant that the people who played the game more and will steam-roll everybody new. Sorry. :smiley:

it isn’t an issue, just like xp differential isn’t an issue, that’s the point
