Will the PDP ever get nerfed?

Now that this discussion about PDP nerf got slightly derailed to a discussion about generally nerfs.
I’m wondering why Phantom was nerfed. I didn’t play the game, when he was OP. What made him so OP?

He had 120 health instead of the now 110. His refractive armor had a longer CD but the time of it working was also longer if I remember correctly. His armor could absorb a lot of damage (even surviving an airstrike I think). He was more difficult to spot and was relatively quick compared to the other mercs that can absorb a lot of damage.

Only thing I can remember was that he was a pain in the *ss when I was playing as Sawbonez at that time. Basically you had to go up against a merc with more health, who has armor on top of it, while being cloaked a lot of the time and who can kill you with one hit. I think with the chopped ability he did about 108 damage with his heavy attack so at least very close to a 1 hit kill.

I might be wrong on some of these things though. I only played him once as a lvl 8 player and that was when he was in the free rotation and I had to have him in my squad for a mission (which was before they nerfed him).

Oh, thank you.

A shame I wasn’t playing this game back then. Could have probably enjoyed a fun power fantasy with Phantom.
Despite that it’s nice they made it more of a challenge to use him. It’s kind of more enjoyable when you are doing great with him.
Lately, I’m playing him quite a lot. It’s really fun when you are hiding in a corner cloaked, waiting for the enemy and then springing out like a kitty cat, spraying bullets everywhere and praying they will, at the very least, kill one enemy.

Because Dirty Bomb is a not crap game, there’s a few cheesy bs mechanics, but the gun play is stll pretty rewarding.
