Will the Crafting costs ever be given a second look ?

You can also buy any edition bronze card from the shop.

[quote=“The_Enema_Bandit;200466”]Buy elite cases if you want more higher tier skins. Support the free game you like to play.

Except now with crafting those Silvers and Golds from elite cases are worth much less compared to the old trade up system. You need to pay a 5-6x more credits to craft a higher rarity using them. So yeah, SD somehow managed to make buying elite cases an even worse idea than it was before.

Crafting also killed loadout progression. But hey, if you happen to have 3334 Lead cards lying around, your Cobalt will be cheaper. That’s a totally a common way everyone uses their cards, rigth? So yay crafting?

Why can’t I just go to the in-game store, choose a weapon skin, merc skin or accessory I want and then just pay?

…and the forum crapped out and apparently posted the same thing twice.

@MarsRover why? Because anything past bronze is cosmetic and they want to insentivise buying cosmetic with real money.

Did you even read the first two paragraphs in my post? Buying cosmetics with real money is a worse deal than it was before.

It’s a beta. Everything is subject to change.

Yup it does take more credits to craft cards using only the cases bought with real money. This can not really be argued.

Those players can no longer just spend real money and spend their game time making cards, due to their low credit costs, instead of playing the game. Now they have to play the game more to earn credits and use those cases more as a supplement to crafting rather than as a primary source. At least that is what it appears to me. The economy has changed.

I personally did love the load out progression in the previous system. The interesting thing I found out about it though is every time I decided to keep one of those cards ultimately it cost me additional time and credits to get the skin I really wanted the load out to have. These additional costs are still evident in the crafting system but I am no longer forced to have to pay them as was the design of the trade up system.

While allowing a player to just pay for some thing with real money does reduce grinding and also pays the companies involved with this project, it does not promote players to actually play the real game. How long does a game or a game series last if no one plays it?

In addition, gambling is fun. That’s why it’s an entertainment industry in the US.
