Will the augment Looter be better off dropping fragments rather than mini ammo or medpack?

My only problem with it is that small ammo packs only give half a magazine and so it’s useless unless you kill a medic.
I wish it were more useful.

Small ammo packs should give 1 full magazine

Small medpacks are fine but enemies should be unable to pick them up. Also give you support xp if a teammate picks it up

Killing an assault should drop a mini grenade that blows up after 2 seconds and can deal up to 90 damage (will not damage teammates)

Killing a recon could drop a mini heartbeat sensor that spots enemies in a radius of 10 meters and despawn after 7 seconds

I can’t think of anything for engies though.

Those are just ideas, but in the current state it feels useless unless enemy has a lot of medics. And even then enemies can pickup the health packs which harms you

@frostyvampire The half clip can be really useful depending on what weapon you’re using. For me, I always used Looter on a Driess loadout with Redeye so 10 bullets could make a huge difference, that’s 2-3 kills right there. In the heat of battle, picking off 2 or so enemies and then picking up their ammo or med packs, it’s saved me dozens of times. Unfortunately, I stopped using my Looter loadout in favor of pretty skinned loadouts! :smiley:

Looter should be better in some way. I like the idea but it’s usefull so rarely.
@K1X455 How about an augment that actually does something in game rather than something that does very miniscule boost to obtaining skins that do absolutely nothing gameplay wise.

It’s 20 fragments per kill… How many kills you make with looter depends on your type of merc. Take Thunder or Rhino for instance and do the math… 20 x 25 kills = 500 fragments in one sitting. Cobalts in less than a week of playing.

It’s D9D’s idea while we’re working out a new game mode.

The current mechanic of looter is really the one that makes it lacklustre. If you took out a opponent at a distance, you’ll have to go to where he was downed to take the loot. Had the loot been more sizeable rather than mini ammo/medpacks, it’s not worth going to pick up and taking the risk of being downed to pick up what was dropped; and besides someone else can take the loot.

The incentive of having 20 fragments dropped allows gives the player a get small boost on the current crafting system and you all know how artificially inflated gold and cobalts have gone since the introduction of the new system. Note also that there hasn’t been any update on crafting since it got introduced. Thunder and Rhino aren’t the only mercs with Looter augment so those of you who is into cancerous gameplay and I just used it for illustration.

Grandeur is shit now after they nerfed it for no reason. People wanted a sniper rifle nerf, not a grandeur nerf damn it. They need to fix the awkward spread of the grandeur now that they’ve nerfed it into oblivion.

K1X455 has a point. I think it should be more objective friendly earning. Maybe get fragments only when you win a match? Instead of every kill you make, you can have 5% of earned XP. Then high level people would use this augment instead of “OP” cards and everything gets more balanced. It should be a new augment and not replace looter.

And no, sniper rifle didnt need nerf. Grandeur is as much sniper rifle than any other rifles.
