will the anti-cheat be updated

Nexon seems intent on improving Black Cipher, but it still has problems throughout their games

(Xenithos) #22

About 4 weeks ago I ran into over 10 different hackers in a period of three days. I think both Nexon AND different Hack sites constantly update their stuff. But the good news is some services are working in DB’s favor because most of those hackers ARE already banned. I’ve also seen some level 25+s and one level 40 hacker running around. I have video proof of two of them, but I’m not releasing it to the forums. Needless to say, the majority were using cross-hair teleport scripts.

Pretty much how @The_N00B said it: They come in cycles. Expect a batch of them here or there as their hacks get sweet lil updates, and then Expect ban hammer and a patch following it from Nexon or SD.

Anywho, I don’t see anyone posting the end of Shoe’s updated 2nd “Summer Squash” video:

Good thing they only end up with cheap accounts.

But unfortunately, narrow servers like Asia where everybody faces the similar guy day by day, I know this level 140+ hacker that I’m tracking so hard to find an evidence lately.

Kid hackers just spam the whole shots with aimbot, make everyone escape from the matching, and that’s it.

But those real sly TOGGLE hacks are so hard to detect. I just hope

NXA Support still works with Steam profile + Video Recording to ban those fxckers.

I sense so much MADNESS and SADNESS on your post.

When a level 4 goes 43/6, I think it’s hacking. Either that or an insanely good player, possibly on a smurf account.

(Nail) #26

there’s LOTS of smurf accounts

(Amerika) #27

There are a lot of smurfs. Hell, even I have a smurf account I used to do a test to see how fast an experienced player can go from 1 to 7. I had seen people say that getting to 7 only takes an hour while others say it takes 20 hours so I decided to figure it out myself. But a lot of people play on smurfs so they are not hassled or have extremely high expectations or hate thrown their way due to their level.

As for cheaters most of them are habitual cheaters who sub to a service and if one account on Steam gets banned they have tons of others they fire up and start cheating on with the same name. That’s where a lot of the, “this guy hasn’t been banned yet!!!” comes from. The few people I report I track via a spreadsheet I have and all of them were banned or at least I believe them to be banned as they haven’t played DB in quite some time (there is no good way to 100% tell).

Also, there are some people who report a “cheater” who is simply a good player and not cheating. Support agrees with that assessment of them not being a cheater and they don’t ban the player. However, that doesn’t stop the reporter from claiming that a “cheater” isn’t banned yet. I am sure there are some outlier cases as nothing is perfect but those people eventually get caught too.

That’s the point, they do not care. 90% of the cheaters I reported, and there’s a lot, are playing with secondary accounts on which they exclusively play DB. The 10% have accounts with games and a lot of playing hours + STEAM BAN but they keep playing.

Anti cheat system should be based on cross reference like IP, other accounts, email address… There’s a lot of possibilities like we see in other major games (BF4…) where official admins are really trying to eradicate those guys.

As an example, I’m french, I have been contacted by admins from US and CANADA + Germany to tell me about a cheater in my platoon, they gave me solid proofs by crossing references : I confronted him, I banned the guy and fired him --> good admins community, thanks to them.

That’s what DB needs.

Many habitual cheaters also use proxy services that constantly change IP’s to bypass this and use throwaway alternate addresses that virtually all email services provide now. There are other issues with IP bans but that is one of the big ones. And if you blacklist the whole IP block you could be blocking a lot of people who never cheated or did anything wrong.

The difference between games like BF4 and DB is BF4 has publicly ran servers where admins have tools that allow them to do a lot of investigative work. DB does not have that. Hopefully, soon, it will have some level of that with community servers. I’ve written about all this countless times :frowning:

DB is lacking when it comes to these tools, that isn’t being challenged. However, the whole “ban the IP” thing does virtually nothing to stop anybody but super casual/young cheaters who are caught pretty much instantly anyway.

hardware ban… or related steam accounts (idk how :D)

(PlatinumCLAW) #31

Showoff hackers are just trying to advertise their product, ban them and they come back, nothing much can be done, but the ones buying it and using it without anyone knowing are the real problem. 1 cheater in a 100 game is tolerable, but the hidden ones should be found and banned.

I’ve talked about that before as well. Hardware bans are easy to bypass by people who subscribe to these cheats. It’s part of the package. And banning all accounts related to an IP means you could end up banning a good portion of a college campus or legit proxy service users.

If it was so easy to do it would have been something that was fixed over two decades ago. DB needs more layers of anti-cheat…that’s not a debate. It just does. But there is no magic bullet for fixing cheating in an online game. It’s going to happen so it’s best to set your expectation correctly by knowing what can and cannot be done.
