Will the achievements and badges unlock retroactively?

For the record, I’m actually not happy achievements were added. I just don’t value them and considering just stopping playing the game.

I have OCD problems and if there ever was a moment Id remove dirty bomb from my profile I won’t do it once I unlock an achievement. Since my steam showcase won’t match if I remove the game.

I know it’s weird, but that’s me.

Even if you uninstall the game, it will stay in your profile forever as far as I know.

Depends on the achievements. As for badges, I’m pretty sure the game already keeps track of them, it just doesn’t display them unless you use console.

Badges were already ‘unlocked’ and kept track of. You just couldnt see them in your profile, only through console command.
As far as Achievements, I guess the fairest thing would be to unlock them retroactively as well.

Badge data is stored and will add all you’ve earned in the past. The Achievement info comes from new data so you unlock those as you go from the point they all get added.

So suppose I’ve already earned 600 Miracle Worker badges in the past, and an achievement gets added for 500 Miracle worker badges (purely theoretical).

You play a game and get the badge again, triggering the game to check for award eligibility. Does it then see 601 badges => reward achievement, or does it only see that it is incremented by 1, so 1 total since counting?

Just use SAM to unlock the achievements you already have people… unless you know it’d give you a drop or something in which case the devs might be against it.

Where do people keep getting all this info from? :frowning: Is this stuff that’s all been social media teasers, and since not yet implemented doesn’t have an official thread on the forum?
