Because new players will complain that there is only one game mode. Honestly I would like to see @MuddyGrenade s Jolt in the game before excution. But it is easier to tweak excution than to add a new game mode.
Will excution be present in DB 1.0?
Bad idea. Without even getting into thematic and balance incongruities execution specifically presents, let’s just talk about whether Dirty Bomb can even support additional game modes right now. See, DB already has population issues; adding additional game modes / playlists would only exacerbate those issues.
Last time I checked, DB had just under 1,200 concurrent players. Of those, it’s safe to assume up 200 of those players aren’t actually playing the game. Maybe they’re in menues or opening possibly soon to be banned lootboxes or just plain ol’ afk.
Then divide those players into three playlists: server browser, CMM and ranked. Further divide those into three regions ( NA, EU and Asia; SA is probably too small to care about ). That’s nine playlists; if you assume equal distribution, that’s barely more than 100 players per playlist.
I’m aware that’s a gross oversimplification; just use that as a point of reference. Then imagine what adding an additional gamemode will do to those numbers.
You might respond, “a new game mode like CTF will help attract more players” or something else… and well… if people originally didn’t give a shit about DB, why would they suddenly start giving a shit just because some dumb Hanzo derivative or CTF variant is added? If you don’t like Overwatch, why would you care when Blizzard announces a new hero? I’m not saying this tactic doesn’t work; I think R6:Siege’s new PvE mode ( at least that’s what I think it is ) will be very successful, but it’s a different set of circumstances wherein R6:Siege actually has a decent reputation and hype ( and probably a bunch of players on the line whether they should play ) whereas DB doesn’t.
The only kind of additional playlist that might work is the introduction of legacy servers which might bring back some lapsed players who are more interested in playing DB when it was still good as opposed to what it is currently.
Doubt they’ll bring it back, considering their reasoning for removing it in the first place.
We might see the maps recycled into something else, but it probably won’t be that comparable to execution as we know it.
I fear that if SD gets too desperate, especially after loot box ban (PLEASE LET IT HAPPEN, BAN THEM!!!)

That will just kill the game faster.
Kinda wish it would come back, if for nothing else but to see a friend of mine play more who loved it, but yeah I doubt it will.
If the player base radically improves with 1.0 then I might hope to see Execution return as a weekend event or something.
cough you guys should like at that thread that he tagged me in cough

I have a new game mode in mind ala objective type TDM & CTF.
Idk if ctf would be to quick of a game mode. Some aura/sparks comes and takes the flag and runs away at full speed. GG ez rounds. It does seem like a lot of fun.

in 2017 a crack commando unit was sent to @stayfreshshoe by a group of irate exucution players for a crime sd commited. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security
Dungeon to the england underground. Today, still wanted by the execution players, they
survive as programers of fortune. If you have a problem with execution missing , if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the execution devs.
In other words there is a small team looking at reworking execution.
P.s if no one figured it out that paragraph was a modified a-team opening.

The game mode can be made challenging in such a way that 2 simultaneous areas of appropriate distance must be occupied so speed movement isn’t a factor of winning. More gameplay and team coordination involved really and chances are, more draws are possible.
