Wiimote video by the developer in non DB game

(Darkcola) #1

This isnt to promote another game. Someone asked about skills and wiimote use in game. I am putting together some videos of my play, but I am not as good as some others yet using wiimote. It is a great fun challenge. Here though, is a link to a new video showing the actually developer of the program I am using in a different game showing him using the wiimote in front of the screen.

seems kinda pointless to me, no offence

To me it seems only more intuitive to someone who started, and has primarily gamed on, the Wii. Blame it on the NES, but I love a good landscape-oriented rectangle.

you could say the same about the first mouse.

I’m a big fan of mouse + keyboard (I’m using a 20 years old IBM keyboard just for the mechanic feeling it provides) but I’m very impressed by what people achieve with wiimote systems. After I play a fps/tps on a usual ps/xbox controller, I really feel the need to wash my hands, but wiimotes proves that other intuitive solutions exists. As far as I can see, he is using the wiimote to aim quite accurately, which impresses me the most. I’d love to see this running with spearmint.pw, which can allow 4 players split screen with quake 3 !!!

we are working on a plan to get 4 wiimotes working simultaneously. The goal is first to get split screen working for serious sam series.

Then to approach Blue Estate PC coop local & after L4D2 split screen local. After that, various titles from all genres - esp. horror like RE6 split screen as well as split screen racing games.

in terms of accuracy, its dam accurate. It also depends on the game and available settings. After enough love and struggle, we can get anything to work. Dead space one, notorious for poopy control is now as good as a good mouse set up (once you do that nvidia vsync adjustment) and GTA 5 runs excellently.

It has been a fun journey, but we have a lot of plans in the works!
