Why you slowing Russian version?

(Seanza) #21

I agree that we should all be playing the game. If I had it my way, Splash Damage would be handling absolutely everything. I don’t like that fact I can’t freely play with you guys because I’m on a different version of the game/different region. In my personal opinion, that’s such a sh!tty situation.

“Allowing” was probably a bad use of words for me. I’ll re-phrase: The agreement that SD and Nexon have is that SD have full creative control. Why this wasn’t agreed for Destiny (maybe it was?), I don’t know.

I’ve said it in the past and I’ll say it again, some of my best matches where against DS & LOL’d in ET:QW, I’m genuinely gutted that it’s not going to be that easy to get to play against you guys again.

We don’t know the business ins and outs of these agreements, no point in speculating. It is what it is. It sucks.

(Kinjal) #22

Thanks, but if this approach will continue, you can forget about the cross-region matches…Honestly, after patch I’m not sure about competetive part of a game at all.

(Seanza) #23

Don’t you like the non-RU version either?

(Kinjal) #24

No no, im talking about RU patch, EU patch was ok. I cant play ru version anymore, after eu its like running with anchor on your legs. The game may have flaws, but this, is just killing evrything

(Seanza) #25

Well I guess just ditch the RU game and play with everybody else on the EU/NA one

(Kinjal) #26

Dude im here not for my self, im asking for all my friends at RU. They are asked to help them. I understand that most EU players do not care about what is happening on RU, but imagine what the reaction would have been if the publisher have reduced the speed on EU servers. And when you ask, why are you doing this? Then you get the answer - “Its to fast for a noobs,FO etqw players” What your reaction will be?

(Ruben0s) #27

Maybe they just want to get feedback from non sd fans ( I guess most russians didn’t play their previous games) and see how they respond to slower speed.

Seems normal to me to test different things on different versions and see how the different playerbases respond (this way you get valuable feedback and it gives splashdamage the option to look at the “bigger picture”, than just the hardcore ET fans)

(acutepuppy) #28

If the Russian market demands a slower version, and the International version is open to Russian players, the problem isn’t as bad since the game behaves particularly well at a higher ping.

However it does split the RU community, which is never good from the get-go.

(.N.E.R.D.) #29

It’s because the russians are drunk all the time and therefore have slower reactiontime so the whole game must be slower to be fun ;)))))))))
Just kidding, I love you guys.

(ailmanki) #30
I do not understand what they want to achieve with speed reduce. Maps developed under a certain speed, and if i want to play turtle speed FPS i go for BF4 or new COD, Warface and etc.

BTW, why Cooller SD? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtX93wN88XE
Would someone of you please translate it?
Google auto-translation is so bad… lol, according to google they talked about the divorce of Madonna.

First of all, 90% of an actual player base of Russian version of DB is a ET and ETQW players. Where is sum TF2 and BF ppl, but they don’t play at all, and if you ask them that they want, they will answer to you – BF with no Vehicles or TF3. So respond to slower speed is - very bad decision.

About feedback - I really doubt that idea of changing speed was coming from a developer (SD), and the reason why SD don’t reply in this thread is – they hear about change of speed in Russian version for the first time. I guess the changes was made by publisher not a developer. So there is no “bigger picture”, there is only an idiotism of a publisher.

Let me change a few words – “If the US market demands a slower version, and the International version is open to US players, the problem isn’t as bad since the game behaves particularly well at a higher ping”
How do you respond to this?

Nothing really special there, Coller is showing the game to a gamers site reporter, talking about basics.
But I want to point at one thing here – Cooller is saying that he is a developer of a Russian version of a game. And IMHO its absolutely idiotic. There da hell on earth did you see that publisher employ, is making changes to a game? He is a QL player he never played in any team based games, why he is changing game.

(acutepuppy) #32

Yeah, changes like that by a publisher are very damaging.

It certainly sounds like it’s not representing the player base.

I think the mentality of “just play the EU/NA” version is just in the mindset of small community and competitive players, but it could seriously damage the newcommer scene. We don’t want a handful of top-teams just playing each other.

(Glottis-3D) #33

Slowing down speed of a player is a drastic interference in gameplay. As drastic as changing ALL spawn-positions and ALL respawn-times at ALL objects at ALL maps…is it called now “Splash Damage will retain complete creative control”???
please, SD answer in this thread!
thnx!

(Mustang) #34

I would love it if SD would take the reigns on this one and tell all the so called publishers that it’s their way or the highway, i.e. everyone has the same client, we all get to play with each other and the publishers take only a promote and support role.

its a big fail if they do that . in et as example there were russian players.
if you change a game on different countries its a nogo .sry but smth like this would if im a russian be a reason to not play it.
we all know russians prefer realistic shooters
but this game will never be realistic ,so you dont have to try to get red orchestra players.
also russian are famous for quakelive players like cooler… which is one of the fastes games.
so i would say its 50 /50 .if this reaches the gamemagazins it can fast end in a **** storm.russians are in the last time rly often in a bad spot.

i remember diablo 3 where russians had only russian language.
ye you can argu that it wasnt that expensive ,but the trouth is the price of a game should be refer to the income of person.(russia isnt rich)

only Russian players with founders packs can play NA/EU version, it’s not available to others

wouldn’t really expect a reply from SD until after weekend

I think we all going to play on EU in release, because right now situation following:

Destiny Development (DD) – is a Russian developer of browser games. You never see any of their games outside of Russia because there games are made for children and housewife’s. This company never made anything apart of browser games, and for only SD known reasons, they are now Russian publisher of Dirty Bomb.

Anton “Cooller” Singov – Famous Russian Q3 and QL player who never played RTCW, ET, ETQW, Brink, COD, BF or any other team based game. After end of his QL career he use to be selling cars but for unknown reason he is now the employ of DD as a community manager of Dirty Bomb in Russia.

DD as a publisher of DB not just making PR of a game, they have inserted in the client there own anti-cheat system, and didn’t stop on that. After creating this thread I asked Russian player what else DD did to the game. The answer was – “Cooller states that he is a developer of a game. The speed changes were made by him”. Can you believe this? Community manager of the publisher is making changes to the game! It’s fantastic!

I Asked - “what else did he changed?” And I got answer – “Recoil of soldier weapon, Spread of all weapons and etc”.

Now, here is sum of Cooller quotes after players asked him wtf is happening to their game –
Google translate
“[12.09.2013 20:32:04] Anton Singov: I can do all that I see necessary”
“[13.09.2013 11:06:34] Anton Singov: Everything is clear, the case is leaps and bounds to the separation of the regions can not be avoided in any case”
“[13.09.2013 11:14:25] Anton Singov: I don’t like high speed of a game”

If you ask my opinion, I must say I don’t see any “happy end” here. We have a Browser game developer who hired a guy with superiority complex, and they are making changes to the game. It just can’t end well.

Well, this is true. When i started to play alpha in RU i thought - i can finaly contribute as a tester to a Splash Damage game (was huge fan of etqw and et). But what i’m getting now is not a SD game. it is, let’s say, a game “shaped” by a publisher (more of a “crippled” to me ), who has NO expirience in devepoling team/class/object-based games at all. Is SD even aware of this ? Do they know that all their fans from Russia/Ukrain/Belarussia will get DD’s version of gameplay. And, as a consequence, judjement of next SD games will be based on DD’s version??
