Why would anyone buy credit boosters?

I am just curious why would anyone buy a credit booster. I know Nexon/SD said that you can’t directly buy credits with real money, but that isn’t entirely true since the introduction of crafting kits.

So lets look at the store
10 crafting kits are available for € 7,99 which have an value of 50.000 credits.
If you buy 2 18 hour credit boosters for a total of € 6.98 you get an value of 25.920 credits (it’s 12 cr/min if I’m not mistaken)

crafting kits: 6257 credits/euro
credit booster: 3713 credits/euro

So the crafting kits give you way more credits and you don’t even have to do all the grinding to get them.

Of course you can use credits for other stuff, but most of the long time players have already unlocked all the mercs the need (or all in general) and besides that the only reasonable way to spent your credits on is crafting. Other then that you can basically only buy equipment cases when there is an special event.

Even with an double credit weekend the advantage of the credit boosters isn’t that high, and triple credit weekends are rare. And for that occasions you can use the free credit boosters you get while leveling up.

Yeah, there might be some situations were the credit booster is better, but I would say 90 % of the time the crafting kit is just way better.

You should check this post on how credit earning works:

It’s 12 credits per minute but you also get up to 50% bonus (10% min if you lose and bottomscore, 50% if you win and topscore).

In Casual play:
18-hour booster will give you 16,848 extra credits on average (19,440 at max)
In Ranked play:
18-hour booster will give you 33,696 extra credits on average (38,880 at max)

So with 2 boostes you can get 67,000 credits on average (if you play only ranked which is what you should do when you have a booster active). Which is already more than 10 crafting kits.
And having a lot of credits is always nicer than having a lot of crafting kits. I myself just grind credits and then spend them all during events, crafting kits won’t really do much to me

I think some people like to buy them for events or when they are on sale. People may also buy them to help support the developers in a small way (i have done this before because i wanted to support them in a way that i could afford too  )

I used to buy them on rare occasions when i first started as I was on a mission to unlock all the mercs (paying with real money for the new ones that came out like stoker, thunder and aimee)

Only reason I bought them though as I had a severe affliction/addicition with this game when i started playing and would end up spending almost every evening/afternoon/morning depending on what shift I was on playing dirty bomb so it made sense for me.

But this was before crafting was a thing, Still havent done any crafts yet, as this new system seems weird and scary to me.

I didn’t know about the % bonuses for finishing the match and your ranking in the leaderboard. Thx about that.

The bonus while playing ranked is nice in theory, but I managed to play 1 ranked game in about 3 hours. (2 times 1 1/2 hours) And I tryed to find matches on a saturday at around 8 pm in europe, which should be pretty much the peak time.

As I want to play the game and not wait for matches to start / lobbies to fail I decided to stop playing ranked. Maybe I will give it a try again (cuz the have written the have fixed the bugged lobbies) but it is unlikely that I will do more then they needed 10 matches.

There really should be more ways to spend real money and credits within the game. (easiest way would be weapon kits)

Btw. if I use your average value for casual play it is still a bad investment even for buying mercs without a double / triple credit weekend.

3 18 hour credit booster (€ 10,47), require you to play 54 hours.
3 x 16848 = 50544 credits

With that rate you should just buy the merc itself for € 9,99 (even cheaper with bundles/DLC)
