Why the "Bad" Loadouts for the Obsidians is a Good Thing

I cant see any good reason for a paid cosmetic to be fixed with a specific loadout. I dont think the obsidian loadout sucks and Stoker’s design is fine but I wont buy them neither. I would rather see obsidians allowing to choose the perk combinations from any bronze loadout, so the money invested is not subject to balance changes and meta shifts.

I’m not saying that picking your own stuff wouldn’t be better, but I think it’s better that they chose uncommon loadouts if they were going to just choose one loadout (which is what they’ve done with every Obsidian so far). I’d rather be able to choose my own but the ones they chose are not the awful thing that people are making it out to be.

Also, why would you want to limit yourself to “only the best gear in the game”? You’ll never get any better if you only use the guns that are considered op and only the loadouts that are considered to be “the best”. Challenge yourself and play some loadouts that aren’t great and you may be surprised at how much better you can get

… I didn’t wait to have buyer remorse to start experimenting with loadouts.

I spent 8$ on this game this month already, so I’m not tempted to buy a emo Arty from Alpha or skying black Spiderman. What’s left is Fallout Stoker, that I wont buy anyway for the reason stated in my first post.

The skins look pretty good, but I’m not buying them since the loadouts suck. Considering that a lot of players feel the same, this is a missed opportunity.

I hope the next time they come up with actually useful loadouts. I’m waiting for Skyhammer and Nader mostly.

skying black Spiderman.

Nigerman, Nigerman, does whatever a Nigerman does!
It’s not racist if it only has one “g”.

Personally, I think that allowing us to “transfer” loadouts into skins would be a great feature. For Obsidian loadouts, this means that anyone with that Fragment CR81 Phoenix from three weeks of grinding, can pay a small fee to feed Shoe, and keep the lights on, while also making the player feel rewarded for his grind. (This was someone’s idea, not mine).

Makes sense, but still they should probably separate skins from loadouts. I get that it probably wouldn’t earn them as much money though.

speak for yourself I would throw money at them if they did that, I would even argue that it could make them more money

Shooting yourself in the foot and then trying to adapt afterwards? Sounds like how the Devs deal with Ranked(or most stuff in general) lmao.

They should have just made it so you could pick to have it with 1 guaranteed weapon, like is done when you craft using weapon kits, but extend it to being able to pick the primary, secondary or melee weapon. (as some people might be more pick about what secondary or melee weapon they get rather than just which primary)

Some people might even buy the card multiple times to get the loadout they wanted.

Pay 2 Win

The screeches would rival a Mandrake from Harry Potter

How is that pay to win?

It still has RNG involved, the loadouts aren’t any better that the regular skin counterparts and its basically the same as using weapon kits when crafting.

People should already know P2W is nonsense in this game as a bronze loadout is exactly the same thing, you’d only be paying for the skin and a chance at the loadout you want… and you CAN buy the exact loadout you want in bronze anyway with credits, or with real money.

And yet, this thread exists.

I should say, I did misread what you said and thought you meant choosing all the weapons you want and getting RNG on the augments. But even so, RNG of any kind on a pay item will just get the reverse problem of people saying it’s not worth the money just for RNG. The lowdown is… if you pay money and get the weapon you want, it’s pay to win. If you pay money and get RNG, or your get the same card as everyone else, then it’s crap. Unless the card is good, then it’s pay to win. People have simple minds.

I’m a default-card player anyway, so I’ve escaped the shimmering curtain of ignorance that comes with thinking augments have an effect on the game anyway. Perhaps at the very top level it does but for average joe… nah.

I find paying for an item I know I won’t use even less valuable than an item where I can at least have at chance at something that fits my play style.

If I could at least pick 1 weapon to have it RNG off of, at least there would be different loadouts out there for that skin, I’d be fine with that even if they capped it at 1 purchase. Would be more interesting than the exact same loadout for everyone.

how is buying anything in dirty bomb pay 2 win
