This season, I’ve went from getting S1 in placement, then going to S2, dropping all the way to S4 because of weird teams while top-scoring every game, now I’m at S3 thanks to constant grinding.
I hate that you depend on wins over personal performance.
I’ve heard a rumor that you lose more rank for surrendering than for losing normally, but haven’t confirmed.

I play most games of where teamates are really bad (got demoted to a bronze because of it).
I count them all as 2v5 or sometimes even 1v5

I think they have to. We had a match where one of our team members tried to vote for surrender twice but nobody else followed. In the end we won the match with only seconds to spare. Guess in the end that one player was happy his vote didn’t get through.
On the other end of the scale we had a player on the enemy team who paused a match because he was afraid to lose a rank but his team members would not vote for surrender - basically forcing everybody into a stalemate of “If I don’t get my way, y’all not gonna play either”. What a douchebag.
I hate surrendering as well, but I’ve called it once or twice when it’s obvious we are going to lose. (usually second round, never called it first round). It speeds up my ranked credit intake if I don’t waste another 3-4 minutes in a match my team is going to lose either way. I’d rather just end it and get started on the next match.

Jemstar I understand you issues with surrendering. But it is more for very unbalanced matches. I have recently had 3/5 members quit mid game on me. It sucks! And you know what would have sucked even more. If i would have had to sit through a whole 2 v 5 Match.

2 v 5 is very hard to sit through
Splash Damage… PLEASE make ranked skill, not a fucking random lottery, the odds of you getting enough good teams in a row to get somewhere, then getting unlucky. Losing a streak then losing an hour of gameplay is atrocious. Unless you just get 3 bad teams in a row. Fix this bull shit please!!!
