Of course, first I did a forum search using several different variations of my concern to no avail, so now this is happening.
I’ve got a decent sized friends list and obviously we like to play together, but it’s hardly any fun when we’re completely dominating a team full of 7 bots and 1 human and I’m certain it’s no fun for the other guy either. I can only imagine how frustrated that guy must be; buying a game touting team based MP as it’s specialty. Why can it be so hard for us sometimes to find full matches?
Yes, we specified full 8 vs 8. And yes, we specified “public” matches. One day we’ll have no trouble getting into full matches. The next day we’re playing OMAs with 7 bots. Not. Fun. At. All.
I love you, Splash Damage, and Brink just as well. Never forget! :D
It related to the way the game is sort of half arsed in it’s online design. If your playing “campaign” versus your only going to connect to a game that has either players doing the faction+map you picked or enemy faction playing the inverse mission of the one you picked so it becomes versus. Unless there are 16+ people all attempting the same mission your getting random humans+bots.
If you go into the Free Play menu each play list has different rules so it’s only pairing you with people who are using that rule set.
Unfortunately it’s not throwing everyone into a default player pool and sending them out to campaign/free play matches that have room or need balancing…it’s keeping everyone in a seperate hottub and if no one wants in that hot tub your swimming alone.
I appreciate Splash Damages desire to allow gamers to have various private match type rule sets but with public players but with multi+campaign all being online players are splintered among so many rule sets there isn’t enough population…the lag issues on X360 just enhance the problem by people quitting the game and tradeing it in already further reducing the populations.
