Why so hard to find human opponents?

Of course, first I did a forum search using several different variations of my concern to no avail, so now this is happening.

I’ve got a decent sized friends list and obviously we like to play together, but it’s hardly any fun when we’re completely dominating a team full of 7 bots and 1 human and I’m certain it’s no fun for the other guy either. I can only imagine how frustrated that guy must be; buying a game touting team based MP as it’s specialty. Why can it be so hard for us sometimes to find full matches?

Yes, we specified full 8 vs 8. And yes, we specified “public” matches. One day we’ll have no trouble getting into full matches. The next day we’re playing OMAs with 7 bots. Not. Fun. At. All.

I love you, Splash Damage, and Brink just as well. Never forget!

Hi there and thanks for posting.

Are you and your friends all playing on the same network? (e.g. University/College, shared accommodation)

We are playing from across the country. A few of us are playing in Michigan. Another in Chicago. One in South Carolina. The others are friends I’ve met online (not sure where they’re from).

And thank you for the prompt reply. You guys rock here. Not like some devs COUGHubisoftCOUGH

It related to the way the game is sort of half arsed in it’s online design. If your playing “campaign” versus your only going to connect to a game that has either players doing the faction+map you picked or enemy faction playing the inverse mission of the one you picked so it becomes versus. Unless there are 16+ people all attempting the same mission your getting random humans+bots.

If you go into the Free Play menu each play list has different rules so it’s only pairing you with people who are using that rule set.

Unfortunately it’s not throwing everyone into a default player pool and sending them out to campaign/free play matches that have room or need balancing…it’s keeping everyone in a seperate hottub and if no one wants in that hot tub your swimming alone.

I appreciate Splash Damages desire to allow gamers to have various private match type rule sets but with public players but with multi+campaign all being online players are splintered among so many rule sets there isn’t enough population…the lag issues on X360 just enhance the problem by people quitting the game and tradeing it in already further reducing the populations.

its getting annoying.
The only way to q for players is by playing on free style… where i end up with a full team on my enemy side ( Revolution) and all bots on mine… so i lost by default !!!

To this add the fact that ppl are not playing or trading the game and you end up with a dyeing population in 4 days of release… thats alost as fast as APB or Crimecraft… hope you all are happy

I’ve played many more games since I started this thread and it doesn’t seem to matter what settings we start our match on or who starts it. The most we’ve been able to find are 3 other people and those three always end up on OUR team and we’re essentially playing a game against a bunch of insultingly easy bots. This might be fun for some people – just dominating games – but we like a good challenge and not only do bots not cut it – no matter how smart they might eventually be – there’s nothing like competing with an organized team of human players. I don’t think anyone would argue that.

Yeah, had the same problem last night… I was in a team of five human players dominating bots and as soon as another player joined the game they left immediately cause they`re team was getting owned. Bots are too dumb online, there should be an option to remove them.

The matchmaking system needs work as well, separating players by maps and rules is just destroying the game`s player base.

Also, the game needs team balancing. It seems the game is keen at putting the players on one team and one team only, well on the xbox at least.
But even with all this, the game is simply awesome:stroggbanana:
