Why rogue en vogue isn't actually that Bad...

(Dysfnal) #1

In every other event as far as I know, you received one free guaranteed special edition loadout card, and a number of chances at more, well, rogue en vogue is no different, the culprit case is dirt cheap, and without boosters, you are quite possibly even more likely to receive a special edition card, as “one in thirty” cases will be suspect cases, giving you a 1 in 30 chance at a special edition card, as opposed to a multitude of 1 in 100 chances, which is likely a lower chance (I really don’t feel like doing the math) correct me if I’m wrong

One in thirty? Without boosters? You have a better chance of winning the lottery.

(Melinder) #3

Got to take in to account that if you have 1-9 boosters 99% of the people wont receive a case no matter how much they play. So a lot of people are stuck within that range as they bought a booster at the start of the event, and they cant use it up, so they have to farm 100,000 Credits to get enough cycles to buy 10 boosters (me right now).

(ImSploosh) #4

It’s bad because the boosters aren’t working properly unless they’re meant to only work when you have 10 boosters stacked! Buying cases is actually better than buying boosters because odds are, you’ll get a card before you get over 100k credits in cases and you’ll get tons of other cards to trade up as well.

Other events were better in my opinion (for getting event cards). The idea of this event is good, but it was just poor execution with the boosters that’s frustrated everyone. If there’s a 1/1000 chance for a case with 9 boosters, people will want to know. Transparency could have made the event much better. Just a bit more communication.

I think the main thing that everyone can agree on is, NO ONE LIKES RNG. So less RNG=better event. This doesn’t mean less RNG with less chances or some catch to it though.

I really like the trinkets + the Culprit Case though.

One in thirty lol. I guess my last 107 ordinary cases never got the memo.

(PD_Agent47) #6

it’s 1% drop for the Special edition … So it’s not one in Thirty … it’s ONE IN HUNDRED !!

(SereneFlight) #7

I don’t see any difference in drop rates (without boosters… well, actually 0-9 boosters).
Oh… but what’s this? People not getting drops with 10 boosters despite they advertised: “a full stack of 10 drop boosters accelerates the drop rate to the equivalent of Equipment Cases in normal play”
…after that they have been trying to cover their BS left and right… devs saying this and that, pity drops on week 2… ReV video (~week or so IIRC after the event started) that doesn’t mention anything about the drop rate with 10 boosters…
What else… ah, there was a weird period of time when several people had hard time getting Equipment Case drops after playing several hours.

Anyways… what else is there in this event… no maps… check. Trinkets… check.
All this suspect thingy which is a popularity contest paired with merc missions (GODDAMNIT GAME YOU REALLY HAD TO GIVE ME BZILLION VASSILI MISSIONS DURING WEEK 3???)… if I was a crazy person with an internet connection, I’d say that SD didn’t really think this one through.

Cycles… cycles… ah, new “fancy” credits…
CYCLE MISSIONS!! Want less credits from your missions? Done and done.

Suspect Equipment Cases? Sure, why not… oh wait… they cost 3,5 times more than regular Equipment Cases. Oh but you have 1% chance of getting Suspect card which is so genero-… 1%!? … I see… 3,5k credits just to get a lead card.

Still. Not. Selling. Event. Cases.
5/20(?)/35. Sodding. Euros/Dollars. For. 10%. Chance. Of. Getting. Event. Card. Are. You. Fucking. Kidding. Me.

Oh wait nvm. I’m just entitled crazy person who haven’t really spent money on this game for a good while totally not because there’s nothing worth of buying so I should just keep mi mouth shut.

Let’s buy cycles! oh… spending 50k credits give you only 2,5% more cycles and 100k 8%… wow, some people sure know how to be generous.

…well, new merc seems to be functioning… surprisingly enough.
Stoker’s molotov is still fun tho

Yes, ReV isn’t that bad (I have a feeling I forgot something but meh…)

…Killing Floor tricked me into liking when devs do events… even if it was just event monster skins during the event, 1 map and piece DLC or two… yeah, I still liked them and was more than happy to spend money.

Besides the fact that it’s most likely rigged due to cheaper mercs, the awful disaster with boosters, the fact that an Obsidian is only aquireable through a payment and the Culprit being a random loadout it’s not that bad… Well, the trinkets are nice.
They had many ideas from players after WtD with the most popular being fixed rewards after a certain amount of games. But we got the much superior “Working as intended” booster system.

Apparently SD strategically rigged the missions rotation too, so that some mercs would get a higher playrate%.

That’s what I’ve heard.

(TheStrangerous) #10

Regularly played AKHEM grinded for first 2 weeks, after that, I’ve been playing whenever I felt like, special event cases didn’t get me. Just some regular bronze cards drops (mostly duplicates).

And trinkets… I don’t care, don’t notice them anyway after equipping, too busy looking on my crosshair.

Yeah, I could care less about the event, if these cycles weren’t getting in my way of earning REAL credits. Screw those cycles, apparently they’re here to stay in the next event :frowning:

(Dysfnal) #11

Effectively doubled my disagrees with one message, and most people didn’t even understand what I meant… @DirtyMerc read the thread explaining the cases, you can both buy cases with a 1% chance of recieving a card, and you also have a chance to recieve a case with a guaranteed card (supposed to be 1/30, but my guess is it’s bugged, this week I recieved a week 3 case as another player said the same happened to him in chat), but if it were working properly, probably wouldn’t be bad, I do agree with the credits bit though, we should have 33% extra mission credits during the event

(RedBeard) #12

Its awesome, I love all of the mercs and the hovering EV! oh wait that’s not this game!

(l2c) #13

The time-system should’a just been a progressbar you filled with playtime, guaranteed case at 100%, possibility before, reset when you got a case. This magical RNG time-based booster stuff isn’t working.
