Why OverTime in StopWatch is not fair

(SIMOON) #1

Hello lads,

Here is an example why the OverTime on the firt Stopwatch round is not fair :

Example map : Underground

Round 1: TEAM-1 attacks first, blow the first obj, and plant the bomb at the second obj at 14.50. There will be an overtime and it will blow at 15.40.
Round 2: Time is set to 15.40. TEAM-2 is attacking, blow the first obj, but can’t blow the second obj in time.

Result: TEAM-1 won.

This seems fair but, let’s see what happens if TEAM-2 attacks first:

Round 1: TEAM-2 is attacking, blow the first obj, but can’t blow the second obj in time.
Round 2: TEAM-1 attacks first, blow the first obj, and plant the bomb at the second obj at 14.50. No overtime.Times end at 15.00.

Result: DRAW

The two teams did the same exact things on both example but the result is different.

I hope I didn’t do any mistake.

Moreover, I don’t know what happens if on Terminal first round, A team plant a container at 14.50 and the second one at 15.30. Is there 2 overtime ?

There is no such thing as overtime in stopwatch.

I would like some of what you’re smoking currently.

Yes there is. I’ve linked images where the opponent’s team got 16.5 minutes of overtime ON TOP of their 15 minutes, resulting in a 50 minute game.

Evidence Stopwatch has overtime and it is most certainly broken. This is the game I referenced where the other team received over 30 minutes on offense.

Were you in it? It was brutal. It was much less fair to them to be on offense that long than to us. We just got to tee off for even longer.

There’s also this one. Funny thing is, they capped one datacore, and we capped both. You can see our player in the screen who just finished capping our second datacore, however, right after doing it the helicopter didn’t fly off and we were given a loss. We were completely outraged. We outplayed them in every objective and still got a loss due to a glitch.

Or there’s the match against an aimbotter where we both got the first objective, we did it faster. Nobody got the second plant on Underground and it was a draw. I don’t think that’s right. There definitely needs to be a tiebreaker.

Just to make things clear, this topic is not about the Overtime bug, there are other threads for it I think.
I was just showing why Overtime in StopWatch (so in tournaments) is not fair.

Stopwatch should be stopwatch. Once your time is elapsed, you have finished. So yes, current stopwatch are an enormous absurdity in my opinion. Some content of the stopwatch update was good, like win for the second team once they pushed the EV further than the first team did. But draw rules not counting the first objectives times and overtime are totally out of context. A fairly balanced game with both team not finishing the last obj will finish as a draw. Please. That’s utter non sense.
