It’s really challenging to do well in ranked when the entire lobby is spamming whatever merc is on rotation. Just disabling free rotation mercs would ensure that all players are somewhat familiar with their abilities, and would reduce the likelihood of facing a team of all proxies. It would also make sure that everyone has at least bought a merc of their choice, so fewer players who aren’t somewhat serious about the game would be able to play.
