There are a lot of people for and against this. Personally I like having DM/TDM in a game as an option just to sharpen your aim. But I understand the arguments for not having it. A couple of which are the fact that it will teach some players to just play DM even while in obj/sw mode and worry about K/D and others don’t like it because it could segregate the community etc.
SD currently is focusing only on Obj, SW and execution. I’m still not a fan of Execution and do not think it fits with DB at all but I hope to be proven wrong eventually. They have commented that there will not be DM/TDM but like anything else it could change if there is enough demand.
I understand SD wants to focus objective and stuff but I just want a gamemode that let’s me practice using a merc or how to aim without pressure to accomplish something and earn exp :). Practice in simple words.
There’s no pressure in casual, and if you do feel pressure there, stop it, it’s not good for you.
I think the main problem with introducing TDM is that it could potentially kill off the objective servers. People who just want to play some casual TDM and don’t really want to put in any effort to win anything would go there. Which leads to less people in OBJ/SW. Then we get to a point where it’s hard to find OBJ/SW servers and the people who like those game modes give up and just go join the TDM server so they get to play the game. It’s something that can become a problem in underpopulated games. I don’t know if that’s something that would happen, but I’m just saying it’s a possibility, and maybe that’s what the devs fear.
As for DM, that’s just not gonna work in a class based shooter. The balance issues would be ridiculous.
I see where you’re coming from though, aim training with a 20 second respawn time and 15 seconds run time to enemies is not the greatest. What I do is just play some CSGO aim training maps, DM and sometimes aim maps. Play some occasional QL too. As long as you use the same cm/360 in all games it doesn’t matter which one you practice in.
