Why no reimbursement?

(Pinchiiy48~) #1

What is SD reason for not giving a reimbursement for players who already own the mercs in the pack. I want to get the merc pack + obsidian operatives but i feel like i have less value in it compared to a new player since i am only missing 3 mercs. $62ish AUD seems a bit bizzare. I already spent over a $130 usd (since 2015) on this game so i feel a little shortchanged. We really should get a reimbursement of credits or even crates. Seems a little cheap.

Its about new players not ones that are already invested in game i dont like it either, but u cant go to best buy and ask for reimbursment for a price cut months down the line.

From my experience (atleast what I think based on their “latest issues” part of the weekly video) SD will only respond to questions with:
-we are working on it
-next update (sometimes “update next week”)
-Soon
-we are keeping an eye on it (when it comes to balance usually)
-everything is fine (pay2win accusations)

If they cant answer it with one of the above:
-ignore

So yeah , dont hold your breath for an answer.

Battlerite does it right… they reimburse all of your previous purchases for previously bought champions … EVEN the one they gave you away for free at the beginning of the game!

Why can’t they do it here… this we do not know

Actually, you totally can?

Best Buy policy:
If we lower our in-store or online price during the return and exchange period, we will match our lower price, upon request.
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/help-topics/best-buy-low-price-guarantee/pcmcat297300050000.c?id=pcmcat297300050000

Sure, it’s not months, but I do believe it is a good 45 days.

I believe Splash Damage has offered four limited edition merc + loadout bundles where, on release of a new merc, you can purchase a special, limited edition loadout with merc unlock for Aimee ( included Proxy culprit obsidian ), Guardian, Javelin and Turtle. They have never once offered any type of price reduction for already owning the merc. Splash Damage simply doesn’t care for and can’t into community.

Um wow some one spends a lot of time at bestbuy reading there policy board

it’s only been since the “All Merc” pack that I’ve considered buying anything, it’s the only offering so far that has any REAL value, card collectors will always get exploited by every game maker, it’s hilarious

lol, tell me that ain’t silly

That, by definition, is literally NOT months, like you said.

So no, actually, you totally can’t.

The merc pack isn’t for you, then. It’s not a “buy some obsidians and get free mercs” thing. It’s a “Buy these mercs AND obsidians at a price cheaper than buying them all separately.”

It’s a combo pack. It’s not two things sold separately at a discounted rate. You don’t get to split the combo pack in half and still get a discount lol

It’s likely they’re going to sell an “all obsidians” combo pack later anyway, so just wait it out. You pay the premium for the ability to have them NOW, or you suck it up and wait to get them cheaper later.

These are to entice new players to spend money and get some mercs they don’t have in the process. If you’re not a new player or you already own half the pack, then it’s not meant for you.

There is literally a topic on the boards right now where a guy is complaining he feels he got shortchanged by the introduction of this bundle when he just bought a bundle a week or two before.

Why are you even bringing this petty shit up.

a. 45 days > one month. More than one month is “months.” By technicality, it is now “months.”
b. Most reasonable people wouldn’t even consider asking for some kind of reimbursement on a price cut six months down the line so the whole thing is moot.
c. OP isn’t asking for reimbursement for a product he bought “months” before, he is asking for a discount on a product that is one day old, that he wants to purchase now.

If you’re going to have a price match policy, it logically makes sense to have a reimbursement policy cause otherwise, people will just return and repurchase. Almost every single company that price matches will reimburse.

Right, because making people that buy the most feel miserable is AMAZING business plan. I wont argue that almost everything in DB is overpriced, because it is, but if SD insist on punishing “whales” (or “veterans” for that matter) constantly then i dont see how they plan on growing their player base, but yea lets laugh at people that overpaid ;).

Oh sorry I thought I was responding to a quote from you, not inventing a new line of discussion myself

a. 45 days > one month. More than one month is “months.” By technicality, it is now “months.”

Not true, months is the plural form of month, which defines itself as more than one occurrence of a month. In this case, 45 days would be a month and a half, which is strictly different from multiple months, as only one month has occurred.

b. Most reasonable people wouldn’t even consider asking for some kind of reimbursement on a price cut six months down the line so the whole thing is moot.

Someone never worked in retail I see

c. OP isn’t asking for reimbursement for a product he bought “months” before,

That wasn’t the point, the point was you claimed 45 days is months, and it’s not. It’s a month and a half. Months are 2 at minimum.

he is asking for a discount on a product that is one day old, that he wants to purchase now.

And asking for reimbursement on stuff he’s purchased since 2015 because the pack includes those things he already owns and he doesn’t want to double pay. This isn’t a case where he bought something last week and it went on sale this week. This isn’t a case where he bought this pack 2 months (plural) ago and now it’s on sale for cheaper. No, the pack has things he already bought in it, but he wants the stuff that he doesn’t have and doesn’t want to pay full price for the pack.

He wants to take a promotional combo, rip out only the items he wants, and not pay for the rest of it by means of a credit he can use down the line. That’s not how it works anywhere, ever.

If you’re going to have a price match policy, it logically makes sense to have a reimbursement policy cause otherwise, people will just return and repurchase. Almost every single company that price matches will reimburse.

I’m 99% certain DB doesn’t have a price match policy. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure I’m not.

“I’m 99% certain DB doesn’t have a price match policy. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure I’m not.”

but they do, if you can buy DB stuff cheaper anywhere else, they’ll give you your money back

btw, no one I know of gives refunds on used products unless they are warrantied

Which is correct:

a. Your package is expected for delivery in one and one third day.

b. Your package is expected for delivery within two days.

a. I have one and a half egg.

b. I have one and a half eggs.

Not the best examples, but indivisible increments generally work that way.

Anyway, this is mostly syntax and the rest can be affirmed via grammatical resources, e.g. MacMillain, so I don’t care to waste time pursuing this any further. Just imagine me saying, “whatev dawg.”

Yes

Denoting the plural form when two or more is listed.

a. I have one and a half egg.

b. I have one and a half eggs.

c. I have an egg and a half.

d. I have an eggs and a half.

////

a. A months and a half.

b. A month and a half.

////

That being said, within the context the speaker said “months down the line” and clearly implied the occurrence of more than one month, and not the literal amount of days beyond what we expect are in a month. He didn’t mean “more than 30/31 days down the line” he meant “More days than are in 2 or greater months.” Which is clear and obvious. So your attempt to derail his effort by claiming that 45 days is more than one month ergo he is incorrect is… false. Sorry

Anyway, it’s semantics,

grammar*

and I don’t care to waste time pursuing this any further.

Ok

Back to your regularly scheduled programming:

No OP, you can’t get pieces of a combo at a combo deal price. Just wait for awhile, something will come out.

(l2c) #16

If they actually release the 4 (?) mercs they said this year, that’s 7 mercs, at what for me is the same price as 4, maybe 5 mercs. It’s still an ok deal even if you’re just missing 3.

If you add on the obsidians and get the elite bundle, you’re saving even more. The Obsidian pack is 300something NOK, All Mercs 200something, both together, 350. Aimee’s Obsidian is 100 alone, so 150 for all 5 is pretty fair. Or if you wanna, 300 for obsidians, and 50 for all mercs. Either way, it’s a good bundle, especially while it’s on sale.

(onericewonder) #17

I think the problem here is that the players get nothing for buying duplicates, yet it would not be practical to give discounted prices for buying half the bundle. I would personally be happy with just a median where its cost the same but instead of receiving nothing I get at least what the merc is worth in credits

(Pinchiiy48~) #18

Yeah thats what i mean. We could at least receive the credits for what they’re worth.

(GatoCommodore) #19

i was going to say “you are not entitled to the things you havent buy”, but people would call me arse hole.

i bought fallout 4 preorder even though not long after that it went on discount which is cheaper than my preorder.

i bought Civ V right before the steam discount (a day before)

These stuff happens but it doesnt mean its SD’s fault and somehow youre obliged to ask SD for a refund.
