Why no co-op in free play?

I tried to create a private free play match last night with two of my friends against 4 bots just for the fun of it, and couldn’t. The only free play options are for solo and versus, so it would always split us up. Kind of a shame free play doesn’t actually let you play the way you want, sometimes I don’t want to have to play against 8 bots with my friends and I would like to be able to try stopwatch matches this way too.

Is it possible this could be patched in at a later time? Or is there are a really compelling reason why this option isn’t there? Thanks.

This game is basically dead. I wouldn’t expect any real patches for this game.

Just don’t turn team-balance on in the versus settings and you all can switch to the same team to play against the bots.
