Why Model Center is not correct like the Grid of GTKRadiant

(Kurini) #1

Hi ,

i want to know why the most center points from the models are not correct like the Grid of the GTK Radiant . When i put a model on a floor it goes a little bit in the floor . I mean i cant snap them correct to the Grid . Here is a picture of the bottom of the barrel.m3d ( Grid number 1) :

You can see that the center point of the Barrel is a little bit higher than the bottom of the Barrel . Want to know why the model maker or level designer make that ?! At Goldrush the most models go a little bit in the floor too .

sorry when my english is not so good .

Simply because the units in a 3d-program does not not correspond exactly to the units in Radiant. Try setting the grid to 0.25, and you should have sufficient resolution for positioning objects the way you want to. (just love those bananas!)

To sort-of quote SiliconSlick : “it’s better to ask and be seen as a fool, than to remain quiet and be one.”

I didn’t know this either, so that’s two of us
