Why is this even a thing . . . (hackers)

(AnonyBOSS) #1

Hello all,

Quick disclaimer - I am NOT trying to promote this hack/hacker, I would like to expose it so that everyone knows about it. Sort of like a whistle blower. I do realize this has a side-effect of advertising the hack, but I believe that informing the community of the existence of what I’m about to say is more that worth the con.

It’s been a while first of all. Hope you all in the community is doing ]well. I would like to talk about a certain hacker I have encountered in game, and the things I have discovered on top as a result. I also would like to voice my fustrations at the problems this causes - this should not be a thing in DB, yet it is.

DELETED

AGAIN, this is NOT for advertising purposes. I want to vent my fustration at how the devs don’t realize such a thing exists, or show any indication of fighting it. If such a source of hacks is known, why can’t they employ white-hat hackers to counter it, find the its weakness, and counter it? It’s going to involve supporting them directly, but it’ll shut down an entire avenue of hacks. Sort of like locking down the enemy spawn in-game.

If you need evidence of the hack in action, I have plenty of screenshots of this person.

DELETED

I think the problem is blantatly obvious, and something needs to be done.

Thank you

-AnonyBOSS

tl;dr - hacking sites exist, devs should shut it down via analysis + subsecuent block. NOT DOING THIS FOR ADVERTISING

I guess you should delete links to the cheats while you can… This forum has a weird policy

@Eox @Amerika @Ardez @RazielWarmonic @stayfreshshoe Can we have some quick link removal, thanks?

The policy is not “weird” in the slightest. It makes sense, it would allow constructive discussion of the matter, too bad people always take 2 too many turns and start advertising. This is blatant cheat promotion, either through absolutely naïve gullibility or disguised malignancy, not discussion of anything.

Cheat sites exist, and you’re the one here making their work even easier by using official forums for spreading their bogus, good job. Devs are not naïve and know there are cheats made for their game, these matters are not as easy as “ok so they tell the people to shut the site down”. That is not how any of this works.

Please report any hacks or suspected hackers directly to Nexon Support. This forum is not a place to report hackers and there is a strict no naming and shaming policy. As the goal of this thread was specifically naming and shaming, I am closing this thread.

Trust me when I say that gave developers and publishers are not ignorant of hacks, hackers or hacking focused websites and they have existed since before multiplayer gaming was common.
