Why is "Quick Join" so broken now?

When I say broken, it’s not all the time, but I’d say we’re pushing on nearly 25-30% of my quick join matches not working.

For the last week, so many times I use quick join I end up in Asia servers or American servers, when there are heaps of Australian servers with spots open. I am based in New Zealand and I am closest to the Aussie servers by a long shot.

Like I don’t understand what’s going on here.

a) Why is it putting me into Asian and American servers when there are spots open in Australian servers?

b) Even if there was no spots open in Australian servers, why does it not put me into an empty Australian server instead of an empty Asian or American one? The amount of times I’ve been put into empty “USA East” servers just makes no sense to me.

I have the same problem but with US servers. I keep getting put into EU servers or empty servers. I’d rather wait an extra minute and get into a server nearby then join one where I get shot around corners due to high lag. A simple ping filter option would probably solve most of these issues for quickmatch.

Yeah but my point is why does it put me in servers on the other side of the world when there is more than 1 available in my closest location?

This is what I am talking about. First I used quick join and it put me into an empty US West server. I left, tried again, and it put me into an empty Asia server. I decided to take a screenshot this time to see if it happened again.

So I left again, and checked what servers were available in the Australian region (my closest region by a long shot)

Pleeeeeeeeenty of Aussie servers. I have no idea why it keeps putting me into other regions first. Surely I’m not the only one, I dare say others just aren’t speaking up about it.
