I seriously do not understand why so many people are asking to get Merc Limits added to the game. I have 500 hours and have yet to expierence any sort of merc stack that was “unfair” or “unwinnable”. That just doesn’t exist (except maybe a thunder stack). On top of that there is no fair way to implement such an idea without a total scrapping of the squad system DB is known for. What’s the big deal? Am I missing something? Y’all keep talking about it and bringing it up like it’s game breaking which it is no where near being.
Why is Everyone so Obessed with Merc Limits?
I think merc limits should only be implemented into ranked. For example double aura stacks on defence is really OP on certain maps. Other stacks are also strong but you get the gist of it.
I understand both your viewpoint and others who want merc limits. I mean just think about it, 4 Arties stacking just spamming to disable the EV. Or like the last part for delivering cores on Bridge, imagine stepping into 2 Aura and 3 Rhino nests. There’s literally nothing you can do. But personally, I haven’t really had this problem, probably cause my teammates always Arty Party with me so we’re the ones stacking or simply just throw explosives at campgrounds.
It’s not so much unfair as it is annoying. Have you ever played a match with several bad vassilis on your team, or tried to repair an EV against 4 arties?
Even this freerotation, I just got out of a match with 4 naders and 2 phantoms.
I’ve experienced merc stacks, but most of the time it isn’t noticeable. They’re only as effective as the players playing them. Occasionally in Ranked there’s that double aura, double thunder combo that’s hard to get past on Underground, but it’s still doable nonetheless. I’d hate merc limits added to this game.
I played against a 3 proxy stack once. Attacking Bridge last was a total nightmare.
In pubs i really don’t think it’s necessary, but in ranked i feel it’s needed. Ever played against a 2 aura 2 rhino defense on the 1st obj of underground, how about trying to defend the same obj against 3 attacking naders. And if turtles shield isn’t changed, turtle stack will be hell in ranked.

But there are weaknesses to that stack. Get a Nader or two and bye bye health station for rhino. That stack while annoying still has weaknesses to exploit you just have to know how to do it.
Tbh I wouldn’t mind merc limits, but I WOULD if we kept this 3 merc squad thing. In order for this to work all the mercs should be available at any given time. Otherwise no, no merc limits.

You’re assuming your team had the foresight to stack Naders going into the game. Remember you don’t see merc picks before the game in Ranked.
The point is that Ranked has too few players to allow merc stacking. In pubs it’s fine, but when there’s only 5 people, you really don’t have much to do. Having to go into every match expecting to play the double aura Rhino counter is pretty lame, and bad for meta. Without merc stacking, people have to get creative again, and it opens the door for more interesting team loadouts since players have a restriction imposed on them.
The only option to keep the current squad and no merc limit systems in ranked, would be to draft 1 player’s squad at a time, back and forth between each team (squad lock-ins being visible to both teams).
I’m for merc limits, but at least you could see a stack coming.
How about for ranked matches we have access to all of the mercs throughout the match. that way if someone wants to do a double aura/rhino your entire team can just go all nader 
Much rather have merc limits in ranked than being able to pick from any merc at any time.
Making it limited promotes actual thought into a team setup rather than just picking anything and hoping it goes well.

This would probably result in very messy and consequently boring matched. Like trying to repair the EV on Chapel vs. 5 Artis on attack for first spawn, 5 Skyhammers on 2nd, 5 Kiras on 3rd and so on.
