why is arty basically useless?

you can’t drop the tanks with arty/airstrikes (seems like it takes 3 full strikes) nor does it ever really frag anyone without it landing directly on their heads. nades seem to have a much larger radius than arty.

This have been brought up numerous times before and yes, the artillery and airstrike are quite random. Having said that, it’s actually way better than it used to be since a few patches ago.

Nades are also much more powerful and useful now since a patches ago.

But back to the artillery and airstrike. Yes, they still need a lot of work. I don’t really mind the damage against players, but to the EV it could really need som boost. That and the random factor makes them so… well, random. That is specifically true with the airstrike, throw it, EV stands on top of the marker, half of the blast, or worse, misses the EV. On the flipside, sometimes it takes away 90% of the EVs health.

I’d like some sort of hint of where the airstrike are going to come from as well as a radius hint for the artillery. If it get’s easier to place both of them, or rather how they are going to hit, I think it could really help figuring out a good balance on the damage side as well.

in rtcw/et you could steer the strike to hit where you wanted, and one strike would kill a tank. I just catch myself trying to play obj and sacrifice myself to stop the tank for a full respawn, with limited results. basically making the entire class useless outside of packing ammo.

Artillery strike would be much cooler if you could designate a path of destruction rather than be forced to place it all on one spot.

Arty is not balanced yet.
I think SD is well aware that arty and airstrike don’t work like they should right now.

Arty is useless because it is under-powered and unpredictable/random. So is air strike. We will fix it.

Please no, the airstrike is already deafening loud and you can barely hear footsteps with all the other noise as well.

If sliders are added to reduce those sound fx then I wouldn’t mind so much, but right now I cringe when I hear airstrikes.

I’d probably have a problem with the airstrikes if I used my headset. Loud enough.
