Why even have a server browser?

I have to agree with @Ghosthree3 because honestly, I don’t think I’ve used quick-match for a long time now, and I would never dream of doing so again. Server browser is the best way to join a server, and as he/she said - the real question is, why even have a quick join button?

OK, so I mean that slightly jokingly, because of course there are likely some more casual or drop-in-drop-out players out there who appreciate the button, and it’s a fine feature to have, but I’m fairly certain almost everyone level 10+ uses the server browser anyway. If you are level 10+ and want to play on a level 10+ server and there aren’t any, just join an empty one. Most of the time I play (unless it’s early morning EU time - the quietest time) the server gets at least 4 people on each time quite fast and will fill up soon enough. ^.^

Server browser > matchmaking. Just look at how crappy comp is, you want them to force that on pubs/casual games too? Nah. I like being able to pick my map, leave or join at will, etc. Choice is always better to no choice. Period.

Server browser only works if the servers have some sort of personality and if the general community of the game is small like for example in Call of Duty 2 (yes, theres still ppl playing the best CoD of all time after so many years). This allows for small communities to form that always play on the same server where you can just rely on no1 using cheats or where you can start knife-rounds and some such. Doesnt work in this game, the servers dont even have customizeable names much less allow for mods and thelike.

There seems to be a massive misconception about what matchmaking can do.

Match making is simple. It makes matches.
The it’s coded can be terrible or amazing.

But again, if you have ever played rocket league you’d notice that it’s matchmaking lets you drop out at any time without penalty. You’ll also notice it will try to pair you with players that have similar levels of playtime. If you are playing as a group, it attempts to pair you with other groups as well.

It’s no secret dirty bomb’s comp matchmaking is terrible, along with quick join. I’m not implying that the entire system switch over to the crappy matchmaking it currently has. It’ll have to get better first. (By the way, you can already pick the maps you want with quickjoin and competitive. Not sure why everyone keeps assuming you can’t).

Server browser is the only way for me to find matches since the goddamn quick join is not quick at all.
And sometimes it fails and if there was no server browser guess who would get fucked.
Edit: Why in the world it didn’t censored the curse word?

I’d choose server browser of quick join everytime. I get to pick the exact game type, player count and ping and to add to that find a server with room for me and my friends. Quick join takes all of this in to account but rarely delivers, server browser is the superior method imo.
