Why does the Waterboy mission take so long to complete?

(MyPingIsHuge) #1

There’s nothing compared to it. Everything else is faster. Why?

(kittz0r) #2

because you should play the game and not care so much about your Missions or just Play Kira drop the Ammobox at Spawn, Arty or Skyhammer and throw ammo or use Aura Healing Station on Maps like Bridge or Underground

(Ghosthree3) #3

Yeah, sadly, with these missions I have to stop playing the game properly and dedicate myself to do nothing but giving out ammo until it’s done. The requirement needs to be lowered I think.

(Amerika) #4

Yeah. It’s pretty insane how much longer it takes to complete Waterboy than any other mission to the point where you have to completely dedicate yourself to it for many games beyond what other missions require. Waterboy is one of the few missions I will dismiss in some situations. And telling people they should just be playing the game isn’t a good response. It’s simply out of line with the other missions. Game XP might suck but at least you can pick a map and go after it with an engineer and get it done fast and then go back to playing how you want to play. With Waterboy you have to spend forever chipping away at it.

(Mr-Penguin) #5

Yeah, I think a decrease in the amount of xp needed to complete it should be decreased.

(Fate_6) #6

Spamming heals/ammo, it still takes me at least 10 games. That’s too much

(Old Man) #7

Drop ammo and call in airstrike on EVs (huge amount of EXP). Few games and you are done.

(Ghosthree3) #8

EV xp isn’t support xp.

Lol, i find waterboy missions to be easiest of three. Combat ones take me most time.
Probably since no1 is playing medics and like 3 out of 4 games im running around as Aura or Sawbones, trying to keep all those wannabe Rambos alive.
I find Kira to be easiest to farm for waterboy points, unless theres Skyhammers who are sharing(which is not that common) ammo. Plus, with her laser shes ratehr good at farming game points in EV repell games.
But in general i think that requirements for all three exp missions are a bit high. Most 3-star missions are easier to do compared to even 1-star exp mission. Faster. They should cut requirements by 25-40%.
They were easy to do on double exp weekend, felt far better in tune with the rest of the missions, maybe just a bit 2 easy.

pretty sure EV damage XP, repair XP is game mode XP not support XP… support XP isnt hard to get thou if u are a competent medic… i usually finish up waterboy missions in 4-5 games with a sawbonez and with sparks well sparks is so insanely useful in completing support xp its like bashing a poor defenseless raptor baby to death with a sledge hammer so far i have gotten waterboy 3 times and each time i have taken no more than 3 games to complete…

(Dirmagnos) #11

Everything that has to do with game objective gives game exp. Repairing/damaging(by any means) EV is from same category.
Support is healing/ammo feeding and combat exp is fairly self-explanatory.

(Reddeadcap) #12

EV damaging XP isn’t support, Its objective XP
Airstrike kills and the airstrike call down itself is combat
Ammo, Health, Detection, being near your teammates and in Thunder’s case I would believe blinding enemies counts as support.

XP is devided into 3 types, Red, Yellow and Blue, combat, Objective and Support respectively.

(Hadouken) #13

Waterboy is disgustingly annoying to complete because support xp because its dependant on helping your teammates, save the case of vasili (detections). Go with either vas and place your heart beat sensors correctly and set up ammo kegs with Kira. Would be way easier if they released stoker too…

(Amerika) #14

There just isn’t a reliable way to do Waterboy. That’s the problem. Game XP is easy because you can rush objectives/repair EV’s. It usually requires you to be on offense but not always. Combat XP is crazy easy if you can drop 30-50 people per side. Waterboy is reliant on your teammates dying near you often and the other team being slow to gib as revive sprees are the only good way as a medic to get XP. You can drop ammo on FOPS classes and you’ll get consistent XP but you’ll never finish even close to as fast as with the other two. And if you have the 1000 credits version of the Mission that can take a significant amount of time compared to the other two.

It’s simply way out of line by comparison.

(Derpfestor) #15

I don’t even bother doing the mission, there is no point to it if your play style especially is reliant on being aggressive.

(stealthyBass) #16

It’s a bit annoying because of how long it can take. I’ve found since I got Sparks it goes much faster since I can safely zombie my team nonstop from range so it goes a bit faster.

(Daergar) #17

I look forward to getting Waterboy now, Sparkles will wreck that!

Without her, yes, bad.

(Aazhyd) #18

Support XP is blue, game mode XP is yellow, combat XP is red.

(Eox) #19

Revive people with charged defibs, give ammo and health when you think people will be low enough. You earn more xp if your teammate’s ammo/health is low. Basically, the more ammo/health you give, the more xp you earn.

Usually, if I am lucky enough and I play my medic well, I come back with something like 3k support xp. Sometimes more.

(reliableTortoise) #20

use sparks… u dont even have to drop health packs just hide in a little corner and shoot heal lazors to revive teammates… i have had games where i got almost 0 combat xp but still landed in the top 3 of my team with just support points…
