Why does the Launcher Need to Be Running?

A lot of people are asking and I think its time we get an official answer… We get much better Frame Rates with it off… We also know its possible to run the game with it gone so why was the decision made to do this?

People have also said they know why this was done “Mustang” But no one else knows.

I am sure there is a very good reason for this and please explain it here…

We then can also ask more questions about it like will there be updates to fix the frame sucking that having the launcher open produces?

Thanks

not only does it make worse frame rate, it also makes ping bigger. (up to +10 with launcher)

This Nexon Launcher thing is a really bad quality software unfortunately :frowning:

And it seems that all Nexon do with it is editing UI elements instead of fixing backend of that software.

I just played and was running 170 Frames but felt like 10! No Joke it felt like 10 Frames I was getting…

This Launcher Eats crazy ammounts of Frames

OR

Does Something that taxes your system.

I was unplayable at lunch… Felt like I was playing on 56k dial up with 10 frames trying to run around…
—Also didnt help the other team at two engy turrets that I for some reason couldnt kill with 15 bullets!

quite easy to explain.
nexon hopes once youre minimized youre gonna hop on one of their heavy p2w games like combat arms, buy some super op 50$ weapon that’ll get nerfed big time few days later.
on a serious note: its still closed beta and launcher is giving ppl alot of performance problems, so why force this to the few players/testers. fix it first and force it for the first open built but pls not in this state.

I somehow doubt we’re going to get an answer but its made the game have massive lag spikes every 30 seconds or so making it unplayable as well as decreasing overall framerate. I can think of no reason as to why we need this thing, we have Xigncode for anti-cheat so it can’t be for that. My guess is some kind of datamining operation :).

Nexon’s answer is:

“that’s how it is” ie:monitor

I wish when a company wants to compete with the steam platform they at least come up with something on par. Same story with Origin…

(tokamak) #9

How do you know that?

(spookify) #10

Just from messing around with it and using Action to see what my FPS is.
Play for a few hours and then get a muh feeling go out of game and close the launch and have a much better game play.
Done this many many times.

What command makes your gun all washed out or textures really blaa looking… In ET it was Lodbias 2…

Look at LUL’s Screen Shot:

Hello everyone!

The thread title raises a fair question. Basically, the Nexon launcher will support a number of operations that’ll be needed to run Dirty Bomb as a service. While that functionality isn’t in place just yet, our last update lays some of the groundwork for that functionality.

The store??? :stroggbanana:

Makes total sense if it is that… (Nexon Points/XP Point and a direct path or connection to Nexon Servers to store and pass out data)

Same thing is needed for LOL correct?

  • Seems like LOL the launcher is the Nexon launcher however DB also has an ingame everything… Sort of like SD took the long way haha…

OR

You need to have the launcher open because this next update is implementing Red-Dot? I know that makes no sense but a person can dream right

Edit: OR off-site data storage with includes but not limited to STATS!

what kind of funtionality are we talking about here? all it does so far is making the game laggy as hell to play.
