Why does my map not load after compile?

(shaunthorpe) #1

My map does not load after i do a build, the game engine loads but it goes right to the main menu without loading the map. Any help would be greatly aprecciated. :?

(shaunthorpe) #2

I found out what it was, when i used rtcw editor before it would load when i compiled i guess i have to type in

/sv_pure 0
/g_gametype 2
/devmap mapname

i got it from
http://www.wolfensteinx.com/surface/

but now i need to find out why, when i run the game with my custom map and press L to bring up the limbo it quits responding

(carnage) #3

because you have set no command map min an max coordinates

select a world spawn brush and press “N” then look though the keys still you find what you need

(shaunthorpe) #4

yep i had to set the map coordinates

from the upperleft corner for “mapcoordsmins” and the lower right corner for “mapcoordsmaxs”

even after i set my coords it was still freezing when i typed L for the limbo menu so i triple checked and found out the i forgot the s after coord.

Yeah, letter mistakes happens… Hate it

(murka) #6

one letter mistake in my script made me look for it about 15min, they are sooo stupit, and ET doesnt help, like when it says unknown action “accuim” but doesn’t say the line but i was too tired to realize the search function…

Hey,
I get this problem, even though my Coords are correct.

What is wrong?

(Darkfrost) #8

Make sure your using

/sv_pure 0

but as said above, just do

/sv_pure 0
/g_gametype 2
/devmap mapname

(Magic) #9

Think that box is to small, not sure that box can fit a player.
You have to think bigger my friend

(Aris Larkin) #10

I have been using \sv_pure 0
I remade it, and changed it so the Coords are now

mapcoordsmins
0 0
mapcoordsmaxs
232 -232

what is \sv_pure 0 supposed to do?f

(d3coy) #11

ok… this is really simple… the mapcoords you input must be the top left and bottom right corners of a perfectly square box… inside this box needs to be your map.

After loading the map using:

/sv_pure 0
/g_gametype 2
/devmap yourmap

you need to input this:

/developer 1
/generatetracemap

This will generate the tracemap or tell you if your mapcoords are not squared.

(Aris Larkin) #12

did it … don’t know what it means

(Aris Larkin) #13

Finally got it. Made map way bigger, and made the MapCoords +64 bigger

(d3coy) #14

it means you can enter tha map. It also means that icons to be drawn on the command map will align as they are supposed to with the objectives.
