Why do you play dirtybomb ?

(Wolf_Darkrose) #1

Now if i remember i asked this back when i started on the forums and its almost been a year and i want to see how peoples thoughts and feelings have changed. Be it good or be it bad i want to know and im sure many others that are on the fence like i was coming back would love to hear it from the players in game then ads or steam reviews… which are mostly bull, But ya what you guys got ?

I play this game because it is fun. But with all the server problems after the hotfix I am once again unable to play well.
For now I am playing overwatch + gta v until Nexon or SD will fix the servers.

Because of the way it feels. It might be new but it has a raw old school arena feel to it, despite not being one.

There’s 3 things I really need to enjoy an FPS game, and those are:

  1. A game that rewards individual talent. If you’re going huge it should show, and you should be able to carry at least some weight of the team.

  2. It must reward great aim.

  3. It has to have a technical movement system.

Dirty Bomb falls nicely into all 3 categories for me. I played Quake my whole life more or less, so I’ve grown fond of games that require good movement and aim heavy characteristics. I can’t stand FPS games that are slow paced / corner camping, requiring ADS for every shot and a movement system that requires nothing more than pushing forward.

Its f2p, rewarding, and if you get cancer from say a rhino, you can give cancer to others by playing say proxy and throwing your nuclear pancakes into peoples faces

Because I can’t, for my own sake, enjoy any other online shooters I’ve played.

CoD and modern AAA online shooters (with short lifespan) are too much hand holding, heavily relying on deathstreaks/killstreaks, chaotic randumbness. Plus the movement is slow and there’s too much relying on ADS.

Counter Strike is too punishing.

BF2 has horrible weapon hit scan and unbalanced infantry vs vehicle combat.

TF2’s rock paper scissors mechanics, forces you to be waaay too reliable on other teammates, covering your class’s heavy weaknesses.

Older multiplayer games are abandoned by devs/players.

Because THUNDA.

Overwatch is different.

(HunterAssassin5) #8

it’s free.

okay, fact is that i dont play a whole lot of pvp fps games, cant buy anything because i dont have any money in my steam account, and im not too interested in tf2, warface or blacklight. when dirty bomb first came out, it promoted itself as a tough as balls game where the objective actually matters, and that pretty much sold me. for free. sold for free. hmm.

anyway, it took me a while to actually like it as while i enjoyed the adrenaline rush, i take my initial rush and then a leave. only less than recently i was able to enjoy longer sessions with DB

(MisterBadmin) #9

Tribes: Ascend was my first FPS. I can’t play slow multiplayer FPS after that, so I hadn’t played any in years. Then I found out DB was in open beta.

Cut to a year later, about 500 hours of servertime, and I’m still bouncing off of walls.

Nope, it’s Rock Paper Scissors mechanics like in TF2. No thanks.

(Infected) #11

Because after years of playing ET I have not found another online shooter that I liked.

(Madonna_) #12

I played wolf ET since 2006,quitted around 2014 because it was just boring after so many years, once saw my brother playing this game and initially disliked it, decided to give it a try after i found out it was Made by SD,and literally felt in love with it.
Things that make me keep playing:
Hipfire vibe like ET.
Classes like ET.
Its free and not pay to win.
It rewards esperience and brainplay.
I like walljumping and bouncing, and find myself trying to bounce off a wall in Other games too ehehe

(everlovestruck) #13

I don’t
(anymore)

(DMaster2) #14

Because it’s the only team based shooter out there where sniping feels really good.

(enigmaplatypus) #15

i play for several reasons…

1.) it’s really fun and always challenging. No game is ever going to be the exact same so i never really get bored of it.

2.) I love the team based and objective based gameplay.

3.) it’s completely free and you only have to spend money on it if you wish too.

4.) this was my first fps game, what can i say i have a certain loyalty to it

5.) here’s the biggest reason… i have made wonderful friends. I am not so good at making friends or keeping friends in regular life but on the computer i have finally found friends who actually like me for who i am

(Mister__Wiggles) #16

Core game mechanics are some of the best around and always have been, wont give no negativity because for the most part its encouraging here but I will say that that has little influence on my motivation to play currently.

(buffBook) #17

Closest thing i could find to a modern Wolf:ET (remake pls ty  )

EDIT: I see a few other ET players, glad im not the only one ruined by that awesome game. Forever longing for the ting ting ting of headshots and soft sand of oasis.

(BananaSlug) #18

i like the gameplay, its different than other shooters, like look and bf and cood, the only bigger difference is map size, or all the cod clones, db is great mix of good shooters, but still needs a lot of work

(Press E) #19

I just get bored.

(Mc1412013) #20

Its fun its free and its the only game that doesnt seem to be designed to be played by snails. Also i dont suck at it compaired to other online games expceialy with.my news 144hz monitor im getting better k/d since the lag/screen tear is gone theres less distraction while aiming
