Why do you get XP if you lose a game?

(SphereCow) #1

That never made sense to me. Incentive for completing objs should have been considered.

(Coolaguy) #2

Because otherwise, Jolly would have no will to live… let alone the will to buff your gun.

(Cheerio) #3

It gives people incentive to actually finish. If you are losing and you know there is nothing to do. Everyone would rage because they save themselves 10 minutes and get the same amount of exp

Isn’t there a bonus for winning?

(wolfnemesis75) #5

No bonus for winning. This game promotes teamwork. Bonus for teamwork is a better way of looking at it. Once you start facing 20 level players on both sides, you better get used to focusing on victories within the match. For instance, perhaps you were able to do everything except get The Agent to the boat. You are just not going to win every single match in this game, it is that hard. For example: Terminal. There are 3 very difficult objectives for Security and the toughest starts the match, the Hack! Some matches end with the Hack! While the Resistance merely have to defend for a short period of time to win. Even if successful, Security must still Open a Safe, and then carry a briefcase and upload it. The game favors the defense unless they are a rag-tag group of new players. Against 20 level players you will get stoned on objectives sometimes. But, man it feels good when you get the bot through Container City and win the match by uploading the data key or getting data uploaded on Terminal.

You better believe that both sides deserve experience and not just the winning side, brother. How many people have complained about the difficulty of the game as is?

This game is challenging. Matches last a looong time. If you just want to get headshots, you may lose a lot in Brink.

I was answering the question Why do you get XP if you lose a game? Brother!:penguin:

(BiigDaddyDellta) #8

whether you win or lose, you still are expiriencing that sequence. Um, thereby the namesake “expirience.” lol.

Why do you get XP if you lose a game?

So people not leave when they’re loosing and be willing to switch up and balance teams.

(SphereCow) #10

Doesn’t make too much sense if people leave because they do not get XP for losing, since you still would not know whether or not you are going to win or lose until one or the other happens. : [

(H0RSE) #11

I think there is, but it’s not listed in the scoreboard. That last bit of XP players get after they win a match - I think that is it.

(BioSnark) #12

Sure you do. Player list, obits, time on obj 1, map, class make up, xp score board and, of course, engaging in a firefight are all telling you your team’s chances of winning or loosing.
