Why do some textures show up blak&yellw?

I know it has something to do with setting the server to pure or not pure.

example I host game and choose pure server no, then they show up and everythings fine. Now if I host game and choose pure server yes, then the misc_models like palm trees and shells show-up black and yellow?

also my beta map when run on some other servers one of the light textures turns to black and yellow like the misc_models do when I host a game. but when I host it pure or not the same light texture is fine.

dose this have someting to do with what files people have in local directorys? I’d just like to include only what I must in my pak file.

also i can’t run my map using these console commands

\g_gametype 2
\map ammodepot_beta

it tells me can’t find bsp, with a reload world error

but with \sv_pure 0
it works
why!!!

i had this prob too with desertfortress, add the .md3 files to the .pk3 in /models/mabobjects etc… Look in console what things are missing :wink:

I want to make a poster but the texture is way to big how can i fix this problem?

this is because, when you dont do sv_pure 0 the game only takes the data out of a pk3 file, and not any other file, ie. your texture folder, when you have done /sv_pure 0 that means the server is non pure and it will take the files out of the whole etmain directory, not just the pk3’s

the guy who said about the poster, texture the brush with the poster, press S and click on FIT, there are two “fit” buttons, you can figure out which one is right :wink:

Thanks a bunch I’d knew most of that but I just didn’t want to put models into the pk3 I don’t need to.
