Why do server maintenance times always fall at awful times for EU players?

I’ve noticed that it’s early in the morning for AU and US players but in the most played times at EU. Why is this couldn’t it be midday for EU so it’s done by the evenings as a large portion of the player base is in the EU, just wondering.

Yep, it would be great to know.

I mean, they surely don’t want to risk losing the region with higher player base to other games by forcing the players to enjoy themselves somewhere else, do they?

Also, whenever there’s server maintenance, it’s another day when ranked will be deserted.

It would also be great to know why it takes such large amounts of time. I’ve never seen any game taking that long to update servers, and doing it at all once.

@DeMS kind of it more assured my point but thank you.
@RazielWarmonic could we get some.info on this please?

I believe the main issue is that both Nexon (US) and Splash Damage (EU) need to be at work to get the update live smoothly. Time zones and all.

Yes I’d say they need to do it during working hours. Good for Australia though. I’ll enjoy sleeping through the 2am-5am maintenance. Almost makes up for never playing a single ranked match.

@SirSwag yes thankyou I understand why now but I’m still a little salty as it is a whole evening of DB down the drain.

It still doesn’t make much sense that this process isn’t automated, though, and scheduled when there’s the least amount of players online.
