When I’m on the floor I constantly call over the mic “pic me up!” the usually response is a friend who is under fire sparadicly lookin around for whick body is mine, while on the ground I should be able to point to one of the medic symbols that usually just tease me on the screen as they go past my position and send them an objective to pick me up individually. Now obviously this may cause problems because every one will be calling for the same help, the simple solution is that fireteams take priority and the closest (within a 10 meters radius or so) take top priority outside of this fire team take priority, or there could be a separate channel for the fire team.
Why cant i call a medic
Is it really such a common issue that your medic buddy wants to revive you and only you? Normally, i would be running in and tossing out syringes like candy, or just chuck a laz nade in if you’re all that close together.
Precisely what I do. I also never usually have to wait that long if I’m not playing Medic and can’t self-revive, for bot or (surpassingly enough) human medics.
but we dont want to give buff to someone in a fireteam stood next to someone who needs reviving. the whole system needs to be looked at.
btw - lots of people turn off the VOIP. i never have it on as all i hear is foreign voices i cant understand. thats the problem with a game with 20 servers and most of them not in the UK. most seem to be french for some reason?!?
Fireteams take priority by having a purple name.
The medic gets an objective to res people automatically if he’s tracking it (“res nearest teammate”).
Take “downed fire” and wave like crazy while shouting “Res the body who’s waving like a moron!” ???
EDIT: clarification: the medic gets an objective to res any teammate as soon as that teammate is incapped. It falls under a single objective for the team but highlights all people needing ressing. Having up to 7 seperate objectives to res individuals would be a little unwieldy for the medic.
There’s not enough buttons on the gamepad to call a medic, that’s why.
In ETQW, nine out of ten times I don’t really care about being revived and thus I won’t scream for a medic. The times that I do need to be revived are pretty essential ones. If everyone has the courtesy of reserving their medic calls for emergencies, then medics can do their work more efficiently.

i saw that method but it seems a bit clunky to me. i just watch out for downed allies. not rocket science is it?
but then again ive played medic for years in games
Why not something like in Battelfield 2 ? If you´re downed , press the Fire button and you´ll shout Medic! automatically ? If you use downed Fire , then you´ll have to press the sprint button ? Why not ?
It’s actually way more fun to compose a melody by switching to respawn and revive all the time.
You just call out my name. And I know wherever you are. I’ll come running, to see you again…Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall. All you got to do is call, and I’ll be there. Yes I will. You got a friend…
^You need a Medic like this!
Normally, i would be running in and tossing out syringes like candy,
Agreed, I thought this was what ever medic does.
I’ll pass on the implementation of some kind of active ‘MEDIC!’ spamming function like they had in TF2. Every so often it might be useful instead of just plain annoying, but it seems so irrelevant in Brink since you can see the body indicators from almost anywhere and guestimate as to where they’re at.

Ah yes… the 5 million cries of “MEDIC!” as everyone runs out of the spawn room at the begining of the match
Medics should revive medics first, then objective classes, then people who can help hold the objective. That’s the basic priority chain. Obviously things change in the heat of battle but generally that’s a good rule of thumb.
I’ve never had this problem. The most useful thing I can imagine if I only have one pip left and I’m trying to rez a specific person is that they put gamertags or bot names under the “downed need a medic” icon. So you can run straight to the correct person. Even though if you look at them you can see their name. If there’s a pile of your teammates down. I recommend the laz grenada.
LOL this is so true I have actually missed a few spawn waves because I have been way to interested in making music.
I can even compose more complex melodies, since I got the self-revive choice as well…makes 3 random notes lol.
