Why after today I'm quitting Dirty Bomb

@Eox @Kirays Maybe we should just close this thread down before it becomes a cesspool of toxic posts gone way too far… just a thought.

Seriously, all of you get out of my thread. This thread isnt about lagg, its not about ping, its not about latency…

lag is when you have increasing latencies, that the server cannot predict your position in the map (thus, you teleport to the next reported position).

Example: you have a stable 60ms ping to the server, and all of a sudden in a span of 10 seconds, it increases to 988.

Do you even know what you’re into?

teamkills repeatedly and complains about others being toxic? >:)

I never asked for a definition of lagg. Did you even read what I wrote?

“This thread IS NOT ABOUT Lagg, it IS NOT ABOUT ping, it IS NOT ABOUT latency.”

Appearently you have a reading problem, because your response to my message is totally unrelated to my message. I think you’re in the wrong thread there buddy. Have you even read the OP? All of you crazy people hijacked MY thread, not the other way around.

Also, @GatoCommodore : rofl haha, wp sir

I think it might help a lot of you explained the difference between lag, ping and latency, because I myself have a lot of issues about making a visible difference about those three @SirBaas .

Most of the comments since my reply all seem to be asking for the same thing which I covered in that reply.

“Another solution aside from reducing pings is to introduce a ping limit which would warn and remove players who have a high ping. This would require a decent amount of programming which sadly isn’t a resource we have an abundance of currently.”

Being able to do anything with limited pings would come under the same bracket. That base work would need to be done and then integrated with existing features. Doing that with CMM would cause longer queue times and personally I feel kicking players above ‘X’ ping from matches would be a more efficient way of handling it.

As you can pick your region in CMM the majority of players you’re with should be playing with an acceptable ping so taking care of the odd few that make it through is more the focus.

Uhhh @stayfreshshoe the guy was complaining about a thrower not latency xD

It was actually Shoe who brought the discussion to latency so calm thine tits sir before throwing accusations where they aren’t due (And maybe take your own advice and read the previous posts first instead of raging at everyone else).

It was actually Shoe who brought the discussion to latency so calm thine @$!# sir before throwing accusations where they aren’t due (And maybe take your own advice and read the previous posts first instead of raging at everyone else).

I am very much aware of the fact that Shoe started this, and have pointed that out TWICE. Stop telling me to calm down, if you haven’t read my messages in this thread.

For example, my message of the 4th of february (scroll up):

“Seriously, all of you get out of my thread. This thread isnt about lagg, its not about ping, its not about latency. Shoe for some reason brought that up but it is totally unrelated to this topic. Please create a new thread for your ranting.”

So, in your own words: so calm thine @$!# sir before throwing accusations where they aren’t due (And maybe take your own advice and read the previous posts first instead of raging at everyone else). The pot is calling the kettle black.

I’ve asked pretty nicely the first two times, but when people keep on going off topic for some ridiculous reason, I get agitated.

What’s even more infuriating is that all people who replied to shoe appearently havent even read the original post, or any message in between that one or shoe’s post. If they had, they would’ve realised that Shoe’s post was off topic and shouldn’t have replied.

Everyone who replied to Shoe is in the wrong here, not me.

As far as I can see, at this point, you’re the only one riled up so I don’t need to calm myself, I already am calm, and the only one raging here is you (at someone who doesn’t really deserve or appreciate it either). Sure you may have asked nicely, but if it bothered you that much you could’ve had a moderator close the thread instead of continuing to allow the derailment; only to complain about it when you did nothing to stop it. The tools are there, and available for use, so it isn’t the fault of anyone but yourself if you don’t make use of them. Threads get derailed, sometimes beyond recovery, as it’s a public forum and this happens sometimes. So instead of insisting upon having an e-peen contest here why not just use the tools available so we can all get on with our lives bub.
