As many past threads through 2013 & 2014 can testify (was it a bit before the nexon announcement that we lost our FF server? Not that I link both events, it’s just to locate the time).
Who would like to see Friendly Fire turned on in public for a while?
ET’s file a complaint system would work just fine.
Maybe it can be elaborated:
“Your teammate killed you”
F1: No penaltty
F2: XP reduction
F3: Sit out one round
This would work in the way that it would give context to the kill.
- Accidental, unavoidable team kills will just be ignored. Decent sportsmanship.
- If you feel you’ve been the victim of reckless teamkilling or collateral kills to reap more xp then you can give the player an xp reduction (preferably a % modifier on his overal match reward to dampen his stat-padding excitement)
- If you feel you’ve been maliciously killed then the player will skip a respawn wave. Obviously not desirable as it also hurts the team, but if there’s someone seriously grieving then that’s a great way to take him out of the game. The number of skipped respawn rounds can also accumulate so that the second and the third teamkill will mean he’ll eventually be out for good.

While I do agree with you to a certain degree, this also is way to griefer friendly. Could easily resultat in people running into nades, airstrikes or even running in to a molotov that just lands and was thrown way before you were there. “Threw it on me, that duderino is deffo loosing xp…”
Honestly not on publics just yet. You will see one 13 year old come on and TK the hell out of his team. Wait for bans ect to be in place. FF is good enough just on VIP/Private servers.
If the game relies on private servers and admin judgement to work then pubs can’t ever be ranked.
+1 and fair point. Some people are more dangerous to themselves than they are to the opposition
myself included sometimes
- for inadequate players we have votekick. if some kiddie will TK OR just Damage his teammates, because well he is a moron - he will be votekicked (and 5 minutes ban).
- for not carefull players who spam nades too much where he shouldnt there needs to be a tolerate complaint system.
like 3 complaints - idling for 1 spawnwace, 5 complaints - autokick (no ban)
Or you completely forget the fact this game is still under development and things like banning players for “X” time due to complaints and things is one of the lower things on the very long list of things to complete? Cummon man, actually get your head in gear.

The difficulty tends to arise though on when you have a difference of opinion, and i just have lots of bad memories of playing pubs in ET. More so the early days before clans started renting their own servers (i’m guessing Nexoff might not allow too much renting?) where you could get a decent match.
Hypothetically, if you have an enemy team escorting the EV, you want to stop it. The best way is with with an airstrike. You chuck an airstrike in. You TK 3 of your team …or even 2 or 1, and instantly the complaints start getting filed. Who is right? The ones filing the complaint or the FO who is sat there thinking “If you want to dance around the objective having 1v1’s, then on your own head be it. Literally!”.
Personal opinion I think the FO is right. Launch and do your job. Many would probably disagree.
I would like to see it enabled but with votekicking options. I think it would have to have an analytic approach for anything automated. e.g. has player X shot at player Y over Z times, has this player done X damage to the team. You could use some kind of Echo system. oh wai… :D.
