Maybe a 20 gauge shotgun pistol like from KZ3 (revolver type), only 3 shots before reload.
Or even a 2 shot over/under style 20 gauge shotgun pistol.
Mossington just barely edges out the Hjammer in per shot damage. The pellets deal the same damage, but there are more of them. It’s not necessarily better because it doesn’t fire nearly as fast nor reload nearly as quickly. It’s just you gotta give it something otherwise there’d be no point.

EDIT: Also I enjoy 1-shotting Heavies. Gives me the feeling of weight that I don’t really get from most other guns, save the Rokstedi.
EDIT2:
Or even a 2 shot over/under style 20 gauge shotgun pistol.
Would easily switch to Light Body type if this were ever implemented. Depending on the damage per shot, of course.
Would probably make more sense as a sawn-off too. Like the starting ones you get in STALKER.
heya Ceppy, my mate (Piercehead) pointed me to this post as we were playing against you and both of us were raging about you killing us all the time
back on topic, the shotguns are both awesome. a lot of games have released lately where the shotgun is next to useless as the damage is pitiful, Brink sorted this as they are high damage but you have to get close and not miss. the hammer kills everything at close range - 3 round bursts = dead enemy. mossi while downed is funny as well
This is brilliant! I have to say this post put a smile on my face, its great when someone you compliment see it
I have to say I was very impressed with your gun play and I would apologise for making you both rage but you got me back plenty

Dont see how Sawn Off make more sense but also Sawn Off could mean anything, break action, pump action, semi auto, hell even auto, or single barrel, double side by side or over under… Although what I am getting at is a more pistol based shotgun even if its smaller then 20 gauge, they are out there and real. Tired of the same ol same ol side by side sawn off shotguns that are in almost every game, lol why not add an AK-47 now as well cause we know thats the gun of choice now and into the future
Pretty much its the future, lets get a more futuristic small scale shotgun or even maybe allow for different types of rounds as they make various rounds these days stuffing almost anything into those shells.

you are seriously good with that rokstedy. after the 15th time of being killed by you i started using it but just couldnt get it to work for me so i went back to the shotty
Well shotgun pistols as a primary just seems a little bit silly to me, it wouldn’t look right even among the SMGs. The only one I can name is the Taurus Judge and that’s what I’m basing that statement on.
A sawn-off is at least something that could be used as a primary weapon since they can use full-size shotgun rounds. Further the term “sawn-off”, like you said, could be interpretted in many ways. It gives the dev team the flexibility to create something that would fit Brink’s futuristic style.
Personally I think a shorty of some nature would work the best, as most other sawn-offs end up looking too out of date in appearance.
Hell, it could even have a Front Grip as an Attachment. Add some variety to the Shotgun section.

I wonder why I’ve not read about this before on these boards. Has anyone else who has used Mossington for long periods noticed how sometimes the character can keep pumping 10 shells into the gun but the numbers indicating your ammo don’t change? This has got me killed a few times when my focus was on something else and for some reason it still says I have 2 shells in the gun. Happens mostly when I start reloading before using all six shells but it’s like one incident in 100.
I guess this is one of the bugs you’re likely to have when adding shotguns to a game.

I feel like it has been happening more lately then before, but then again I am using the shotguns more now. Feels like it may have happened 1-2 times if ever before the patch and now somewhat often, like before though I also tend to reload before running out but feel like I am running out before reloading more often now.

I just dont like the idea of the lights having any kind of shotgun primary especially if its the same as the others (12 gauge). Last thing this game needs is a 1 shot kill gun for lights that they can sprint up to your face with or slide at you with.
The Taurus Judge doesnt look bad or silly but as I said before would prefer either something like that or with slightly bigger rounds and less shots or some kind of Over Under shotgun pistol set up as it would still have the look of a beefy pistol but shotty power. The one in your pic would be another nice one too as it could hold 20 gauge (lights don’t need 12 gauge) and maybe 4 rounds (5 with one in the chamber).
I feel it should take atleast two shots with a shotty (that lights can carry) to take out (buffed?) lights, and a shotty pistol with 2-5 rounds would be fair to me as after buffs it could be much more deadly. 2 round Over Under would obviously reload much faster then a 5 shot revolver/pump action.
Oh and one thing to take into consideration is that the Hockler MP (in game pistol) and Galactic (in game SMG) are essentially both IRL Primary type weapons (One a PDW that fires mini rifle rounds and the other an SMG with small caliber Pistol rounds) and are equally effective against people. One is just more for close to medium range w/amour penatration and the other close to medium w/stopping power and collateral damage prevention. Basically just saying if they have both them split into those two groups they could easy add a small shotty to the purely side arm selection.
Just throwin ideas around so anyone feel free to add…
