Who thought this was a good idea?

Buffing Thunder’s flashbang to a max of 6 seconds white screen okay sure, but when I turn away and get slowed down and can’t jump it just crosses a line.

There’s no time to jump away from a flashbang, the only thing people can do is turn away but even then one of the deadliest effects of the flashbang still applies…
What’s the point of having a counter to an ability that only counters one part of the ability…

Atm I don’t even see the point in taking Fragger anymore, spawn fragging rarely gets more than 1-2 people with fragger’s nades while thunder can now just throw a flashbang and pick people of with the stark cause they can barely walk and can’t jump.

Thunder can survive more explosive damage, most of fraggers loadouts that are (imo) useful lack unshakeable whilst thunder his good stark loadout has unshakeable (I do not find any of his other guns worth using over the stark) next to him having 170 hp to fragger’s 140.

Just wear sunglasses…

(FireWorks) #3

Erm… youd be dead if it was a frag nade.

(neverplayseriou) #4

@FireWorks you seem to think that nades still work  a healing station will easily eat that entire blast.

(Dawnlazy) #5

They work if you actually throw them at your enemies, unlike the old nade which just had to be carelessly tossed in their general direction for a guaranteed triple kill + gib.

(Reddeadcap) #6

Because having them lock your mouse movement speed was too much for some people.

(Guziol) #7

It could have been a fragger nade and that would be no problem because, why exactly? You wouldnt be even alive to be complaning about being slow.

(neverplayseriou) #8

@Guziol a fragger nade has no counter that’s why it’s acceptable, the flashbang counter used (and in games with a counter is) to be turning away but now even that seems to be pointless.

Not to mention that frags don’t have the possibility of affecting the entire team.

(Black) #9

I never see the nades coming (pun not intended).

Seeing that thunder is now more useful I can’t help but go blind to that white screen. It hurts my eyes.

Not an argument.

Sawbonez has proven that those are useless against concussion grenades.

And Fletcher

(Kakutov) #13

Stop complaining. We’re now at the point where Thunder is finally useful. You need to adapt.

(jjpdn) #14

We’ll know on the next free rotation if Thunder is OP or not.
Hard to tell when he’s so rarely seen.

(SereneFlight) #15

No we don’t. Nublets will always go “omg this merc is so OP” when they go against a merc in rotation but when they actually play the merc and suck, they go “omg this merc is soooo baaaad”.

Lethality of stun grenades
Although stun grenades are usually designed to be non-lethal, several injuries and deaths have been attributed to their use. These include the following:

In February 2010, police in Minneapolis, Minnesota, raided the apartment of Rickia Russell looking for drugs. While Russell was eating dinner with her boyfriend, police threw a flashbang grenade after breaching the door. The exploding flashbang gave Rickia 3rd degree burns on both calves, and burns to her head. No drugs were found in Russell’s apartment and the Minneapolis City Council agreed to pay $1 million in damages

In February 2011, a North Carolina SWAT police officer was injured at his home when a stun grenade accidentally detonated while he was attempting to secure his equipment. He underwent emergency surgery, but later died of his injuries

In January 2014, a man was severely injured during rioting caused by the 2014 Ukrainian revolution after he attempted to pick up a live, undetonated stun grenade. The grenade detonated seconds before he could reach it. The explosion caused damage to his right hand and arm, leading to the loss of most of his fingers, as well as heavy blood loss. As of February 2014, the man’s condition is unknown.[13] However, a video of it has been uploaded to LiveLeak.

On May 28, 2014, a 19-month-old baby boy’s face was severely burned and mutilated when a stun grenade was thrown into his playpen by a SWAT team looking for drugs in a Cornelia, Georgia home. The baby survived with facial disfigurement

n August 3, 2014, a Macedonian fan of the FK Vardar football team was seriously injured during a football match after trying to throw a stun grenade used by police when a fight between the police and the fans broke out in the stands of Stadion Tumbe Kafe stadium in Bitola. The grenade exploded in his hand causing him to lose two fingers and suffer severe damage to the structure of his arm.

and this stun grenade is the m84 variant which is waaay smaller than thunder stun grenade.

please… go on…
pleaaaaseee go on and rant about how stun grenade only blind you and cant make you walk

(TheGreatHoundini) #18

Then use Thunder as your surrogate. There’s no rule saying you can’t use Thunder.
You seem to be implying Thunder is godly now. Why not put that theory to the test by using Thunder… you might even enjoy it by accident.

(HunterAssassin5) #19

well at least they wont b-hop everywhere while theyre conc-ed now. i havent had the chance to play the game after the update yet(in school now), so i still kinda think the concs shoulda kept their EMP effect

(Reddeadcap) #20

@TheRyderShotgun agreed, the EMP in Phantom pretty much tells everyone he’s near.

One could argue that “because it isnt an EMP grenade.” but last time I checked Concussion grenades aren’t Flashbangs either.
