I am just wondering what merc’s you usually use! I am wondering what the most popular merc (most used) is!
Mine is : Sawbonez, Stoker, and Fletcher or Bushwacker!
Comment merc’s you most likely use the most below!

Other than Skyhammer and Aura, free rotation mercs. :slight_smile:

Oh, and Vassili. Lots…of Vassili.

Edit: Oops. I thought I should give a comment what the most used mercs are in general. Misread.

A general list would look something like this

  1. Pub use - new players: Skyhammer and Aura + whoever is on free rotation
  2. Pub use - slightly less new players: Vassili…because every single person on the planet who plays an FPS is a “cold hearted sniper” at their core
  3. Pub use - experienced players: The mercs of the archetype they most prefer
  4. Competitive: Fragger 100% with Sawbonez typically coming in second

Now, for me personally I can use all the mercs and switch around based on what I feel like playing (which can be influenced by missions). I used to Fragger more than anything else with some Skyhammer and Sawbonez but I rely more on Stoker these days with some Phoenix and then any random merc.

I always have Phoenix in my squad

Always on my squad: Fletcher. 1st slot is reserved for him.

Usually on my squad: Phoenix. Unless I really need two other mercs on my squad, he will always be in my 3rd slot. Being able to stay on the go while healing makes up for his relatively poor healing power.

Other mercs I mix into my squad:

  • Nader, Fragger, or Stoker (depending on the map; all take the 2nd slot)
  • Skyhammer (takes the 3rd slot on Chapel)
  • Rhino (takes the 3rd slot on Bridge)
  • Any free-rotation mercs I have missions for just to get them out of the way.

I would actually say Proxy is more popular than Vassili and free mercs. The only reason Aura and Sky are higher because they’re free. I have never seen any other merc more than Proxy running around in Asian servers. And iirc that Reddit poll also resulted in a Proxy popularity contest.

Run, jump, shotgun, suicide mines… ugh… grinds my gear man.

Will usually swap out Proxy or Aura for merc specific missions.

I use all the mercs. Keeps things fresh and entertaining when you have to adapt your game style according to the merc that you’re using.
