I am looking into getting a medic in my rotation next but I am not sure who.
Sparks fits some of my play style but the lack of a good mid to far ranged weapon for a timely shot is well meh.
I am also wondering about Sawbonez but I am unsure because you have to be in the fray to use your health packs effectivly.
Aura of course appeals in price(free) and she can help build a base point with the health stations but I dont really like her weapons.
I could also try and wait for Phoneix and see what happend.
Thoughts?
Sparks is precisely the medic you want for long distance! She is the best reviver hands down.
Phoenix has good weapons and is easy to play, because it’s easy to hit with the healing pulse. Phoenix has the advantage that he heals himself and the target simultaneously.
Aura can be very good on defense, but really struggles on offense. And she’s surprisingly hard to play well, because when your station is destroyed you suffer a terrible penalty. Fragger, Nader, Fletcher can really ruin your day! You need to think well where to put down the station.
Sawbonez is the toughest, and the best for healing fat mercs (Rhino, Fragger, Thunder, 120+ health mercs). But he’s the worst for healing under fire.
To medpack, or not to medpack ? Medpack-throwing medics (Sawbonez, Sparks) have the following advantages:
- can prepare healing in advance, or throw packs for a teammate and go somewhere else
- can heal from above, or more generally when they’re not on the same level
Dowsides:
- enemies can pick them up
- teammates can be unaware of them. You need either a microphone, or good aim, or a stationary target. Medpacks are tricky to hit.
- must choose between healing himself or teammate
The medics which don’t throw medpacks can heal themselves and teammates at the same time.
