I think they rushed this game out to the stores because they knew that they would not be able to compete with Gears of war 3, L.A. Noire, and Modern Warfare 3. They should have kept this game and worked on for AT LEAST another 3 or 4 months to get these graphics, lag etc fixed. I do realize that its just the second day of it being released and the lag is understandable but hell when the CoD and Halo games came out but at least the lag was god damn PLAYABLE.
Who else thinks this game was rushed?
I find it easily playable, only needed to quit match twice out of all the games ive played
This game was already delayed once. It was also in development for years. It’s either their fault or lack of testing.
I’d imagine its both since a lot of the game mechanics are pretty crappy.
i don’t think the game was rushed… the problem is they never did a public and private beta testing. they spent all their time focusing on keeping the game hidden/secret from people (deleting videos, etc) than to actually get feedback from people.
a simple 2-4 weeks beta test could of prevented a lot of bugs/issues on release.

They did do a Beta.
To every one else, Please wait for at least a week before dismissing this game as rubbish. Splash damage should release patches.

You should not have to wait for patches after release for a game to be playable. It is ridiculous that they couldn’t solve this during the so-called “Beta” they had. Did they test it on a single PC or what?
The fact that it’s lagging for people on console too is a joke.
a public BETA consists of a couple thousand players not 12 people (i can only assume it) since simple things like ALT+Tabbing out of game crashes it… heck the game crashes occasionally right after i exit it.
there are also sound issues (seems like it could be map related) everyone on the server i was playing on said they lost sound.
the game has potential and fun, but again they obviously didn’t do enough testing to get an idea how the game would run on many different types of systems out there.
Like that mythical “day one patch” that was supposed to fix freezes, lags AND texture pop? I’ve had all three within the first 20 minutes of play, which isn’t a nice way to meet a new game. Add to that the very lopsided AI coding (enemies are godlike, friendlies are more or less brain dead, apart from handing out supplies). All that could easily have been caught when the QA unit would be doing their jobs right. I’m more than a little upset that I spent 60 Euros on a game that feels more than a little rough around the edges.
One reason why Blizzard is more or less the undisputed king of PC developers is that they release nearly flawless products. Sure, they release patches, but usually their games enter the shops without glaring flaws like massive lag or random freezing.
your precious Gears 2 had one of the worst online systems ever. lots of lag, and although it was patched after some months (!!!) it still favours the host unfairly
Black Ops is a total mess on PS3 and PC. on PS3 anyway (bad port) and PC version is a joke too. there re performance issues even on high end PCs, which is a shame because a) it s still the same old engine and b) Activision has a way bigger budget, such flaws shouldnt happen
They had a closed beta going on for months with 100+ professional game testers.
Dont fudge the facts.
They need to fix the lag and the game is fine.
All i no is that the campain was too short AND ONLY 4 challenges. Better get some free dlc!!!
I don’t think you can call a game that was delayed as much as this one “rushed”. I believe they took as much time as their publisher would allow. I think Brink is strangely unpolished given the time they had.
The only issues with this game are minor… Yeah, on day 1 I had lag issues but I fixed this by switching game types (Advanced, OldSkool, etc.) and I’ve come to REALLY enjoy OldSkool mode.
There are some slight issues with responsiveness, but minor to say the least. Easily fixable with a patch.
I think all in all people just werent expecting it to be what it is, and that’s fine. It REALLY, REALLY is a completely different FPS, and it definitely took some getting used to. I find I have the most fun when I’m on a team of coherent players, and then I have a blast. Even if you can just get one buddy in your firesquad, It really improves the amount of teamwork going on (Remember, if you and your friend work as a team, and buff your teammates skills, THEY are more inclined to help you out… sometimes it’s just a matter of taking the initiative).
Anyway, all issues aside, my only complaint is that it was way too easy to beat the game and finish the challenges (which is okay, since the bread and butter of this game is the multiplayer).
I’m sure we’ll see some fixes with coming patches, and I’m SURE we’ll see some really cool DLC coming out, too.

I agree and while the patch didn’t fix the lag(only 20% of my matches), it took care of the texture pop in with an hard rive install.

ummm did i ever mention anything about gears 2 no and gears 3 had dedicated servers so stfu
Welcome to the $50 beta test. I love my FPSs but I’ve never been this turned off this quickly by a supposed AAA title.
Here is what most all 360 guys are complaining about.
THIS VIDEO IS NOT ME…
Example 1
Example 2
Unacceptable. Really. 100+ professional beta testers are trumped by 1,000’s of PAYING customers.
Fix your **** SD.
I just want them to post some news that they know of these problems, would make me more confident of Brink doing good.
They did. It’s on the top of the forum I think. They are AWARE and are FIXING.
We will see.
