while you are optimizing performance, can we have hit sounds?

evening.

kudos to splash damage. this moring i was disappointed when i saw major graphic bugs.

and this evening the major bug is gone thanks to a patch, yay.

(well, it would be better if the game would have been tested on ati cards to prevent this bug from even happening, but whatever)

i know you are still working on performance fixes and thats good and necessary. but, while youre at it, could you plz add a console command and a two little beep sounds (body shot, head shot), so we can have hit sounds ingame.

i know hit feedback is there, but only visual. i dont know, but it was a great feature in wolf et (i think et pro introduced it) and you also implemented it into etqw. so. if theres some time and ressource over there in london, plz add this.

thanks. and kudos again for your efforts. the game is great so far. minor issues here and there but overall very nice. above my expectations.

I don’t know why people keep requesting louder hit sounds. The “thuds” are in there, I hear them through my headphones.

Also, the steady stream of yellow +1s is a pretty obvious indicator as well.

Why do people want “pings” to let them know they’re making contact?

i actually dont know. i should start a study about it.

maybe its because a lot of the playerbase from brink is used to it. wolfenstein et has it. etqw has it. quake3 had it after some patch i think (or was it quakelive?).

when you are used to something you dont wanna miss it. applies to almost everything.

the beep maybe just “feels” better than just the visual indicator. anyone “klink” from the et headshots? i still smile when i imagine that sound and a plopping helmet.

I personally don’t really mind. I like it in tf2 but the hit indicator is enough for me in Brink.

I know I hear a nice meaty thud when I hit an enemy. (you can really tell when you hit someone with a grenade)

I hear the thud, but I’m use to a more high pitched ding; the thud can get drowned out by other sounds in the game, while in QL and TF2 the high pitched “ding!” is always noticeable. I really hope hitbeeps come in the next patch, along with better crosshairs, lol.

hm. i havnt noticed this yet. it must be really subtle.

anyways. plz just add it when youre done fixing the performance issues on the ati cards. it wont hurt nobody.

Id like if they would fix the multiple sound bug I’m getting.

Also am I the only one tired of dying to the sound of a nade. each time I die it seem to make a big thump sound like the last thing I did was standing near a nade.
