Which is the "lead" console .. PS3 or 360?

(X-Frame) #1

Just curious whether SD is going to port the 360 version to the PS3, or vice versa? Two separate teams?

Maybe there hasn’t been any information about this so early, but just wondering because of how many times I’ve been burned by getting the PS3 version only to have it perform substantially worse than the 360.

I also don’t know how the PC version is involved …

although i favor the ps3 and buy only games on it, i recently noticed a tendency of crappy game implementation for it. the 360 version of games is much smoother whereas the ps3 version of games is in fact a stuttering nightmare.

i think about switching back to my 360 which i haven’t turned on in more than a year. in fact i would, if only it weren’t that f*ing loud.

Each version is being made separately - no ports.

And how is the PC version involved? Splash Damage is a PC company. Brink is their first attempt at console games. I expect the PC version to be the strongest of the 3.

as long as ZM-subordinated companies, make ports “in house” im expect SD do this to, ie porting to “consoles” was made by SD itself.

p.s.
“lead console” is oxymoron.
how can 5 years old hardware “lead” to anywhere ?
i guss PC was “best console” for decades.
and not without reasons 4 it.
and not w/o reasons to stay in that place.

Thanks. Is there a dev post somewhere that confirms that? Just curious

And I didn’t mean like, “Why are they even making a PC version?” … I meant if the PC version could be the “lead” and ported to the consoles and vice versa … just seeing how the PC worked into the mix as well since it’s not just 360 or PS3.

E3 2009…

PC with Xbox 360 Controller…

I think if they made the game for ps3 and port it too 360, then 360 users might end up having 2 cd’s since PS3 blueray cd’s can hold a lot of information…so im thinking if they made a game they make it on 360 since they are using dvd cd’s it be a lot easy to port it too ps3, i dont know im just guessing how things works…

They said they are not porting anything. They are working on all 3 versions simultaneously.

(therapiist-_-) #9

that great news =) I wish other game developers does the same too…

PC

charrrrrrrrrrrrrz

This is true, all three platforms run off the same media/code-base.

Obviously there are some platform specific areas (UI, rendering, online services etc.) but the vast majority is universal.

Thank you Smooth.

Just wanted to say how relieved I am to hear this. I didn’t want to be forced towards 1 console version or the other.

(kamikazee) #13

I have never heard about any console being made out of lead. It just isn’t healthy.

It was about the first things known about the game.

Makes sense, since I just started learning about Brink weeks ago. I’m catching up.
