Where is the Best Place to Be?

Over the last month or so most of the important information that I care about from the game has come from everywhere EXCEPT the official forums. Either from YouTube, or Facebook, or Twitter, and now Reddit with the post about Phoenix’s obsidian change and Javelin’s rework. I’m starting to feel like no one is paying attention to the forums besides us and I wonder if it’s worth posting ideas and issues on here anymore. The only dev action on here has been Shoe posting announcements of new YouTube videos or patch notes.

@stayfreshshoe can you speak to this? I really don’t want to move to Reddit, I like these forums better but I feel like I have to if I want to be listened to or get the most up-to-date information. There hasn’t been a single response or post not patch notes or YT video related from a SD team member in a long while on here.

SD’s crucial info about DB’s development are always scattered around various social medias, making us go look for them, and glue them together… :o

Not here. Probably reddit as devs/CMs post almost exclusively there, and all news from other sources are quickly posted by users.

Which is weird because half a year ago SD took time to transfer these forum, and now they’re pretty much abandoned.

As i refuse to go on reddit i’m really not happy with the state of communication. More and more games are doing this shit and it’s annoying to say the least. Why even bother with official forums.

This is nothing new to most gaming companies out there. A lot of them have a community rep who reads the forums and filters out the non-sense and sends in critical info to the devs. I would suspect this is the case for SD as well.

A lot of devs don’t really have the time to read the forums and reply because they are busy with dead lines and instructions given to them by their superiors.

Eh, I think I’ll stick around. Was never involved that much in the community to begin with. Randomly found a DB video on YT a month or so after the game was released, played a few months, occasionally lurked on the old Nexon version of these forums, and lived within the Execution community while getting all my news by word of mouth or their YT channel’s comment section. I’m not that invested into it because stuff doesn’t change much to begin with, but it would be nice if we had more activity from them around here. I can imagine they’re pretty swamped with work lately, though. @Eox mentioned this in another thread.

They should really take an example of firms like blizzard where devs are daily involved in the forum discussions. Whats the role of a community manager anyway??

I’m just going to repeat what I said on another thread :

@Eox said:

We recieve the news like Reddit, but I have to admit that the devs haven’t posted a message other than community news for a rather long time lately. They are incredibly busy working on new updates and assissting to conventions. They just never stop. I also suspect Reddit gets a few more post either because more Devs are redditors or because it’s more active, but they don’t really ignore the forums.

I heard we might get more dedicated community managers soon, because Shoe has trouble to keep up the pace (I hope I am not assuming stuff), but SD probably needs to recruit some more people first. Anyway, I doubt that Shoe only does community related stuff.

I’m not crucially concerned as much with Shoe clicking “lol” on my dank DB meme as much as I just want to be in on the new news about bug fixes and updates. Typically those posts have been everywhere but here and I just want to know where I should be looking to find this info because I definitely don’t have time to check here, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, AND YouTube everytime I think there might be something.
