Where is the Asia server is located?

i used to play with 60 ping while on Asia and 30+ if im on Aus

currently Asia players are having 140+ pings

my crew on asia are considering to retire from dirty bomb because they cant play like they normally would
ive been building my crew for months now, getting good over those times and waiting for ranked to come back

now my crew is retiring because apparently the server moved to a more distant place
3 of my crew cant play with their 200+ pings

im kind of sad that all this time im coaching guys playing dirty bomb has gone to waste

maybe dirty bomb is dying a little faster now without 20 less people
for the guys who are holding out in asia, good luck and have fun.

im gonna stay in the forum to keep up with the shitpost

I believe they are all in Taiwan. I can check it later to make sure they are still there. Or you can do it yourself pretty easy. Open up Task Manager, click the Performance tab, then click the radial button at the bottom that says Resource Monitor and make sure you’re on server. Then put a check mark in the box next to the Dirty Bomb executable and write down the IP address. You can then Google a geo locator website and throw that IP in and it should tell you where it’s located. You should see 2-3 IP addresses for DB. One for the server, one for the stats connection and one for the anti-cheat. The stats one isn’t always there though in my experience but it’s not important for this.

The location has been changed recently (past few months), as I went from getting 250 ping to 140 ping from Western Australia.

the players are leaving steadily if you look at steam charts
and even more after the server move

EU will prevail. Kek.

Sounds like another case like the South American servers which moved to Miami and a lot of SA players left.

Remember, Asia is massive. You can’t say “I’m getting high ping on Asian servers living in Asia GG SD,” because of how huge Asia is. A player from South Korea will definitely get a different ping than someone playing from Uzbekistan on the same server. Think, man!

actually, i found that there are 2 of each server
(objective and stopwatch, for me its the Objective 7v7) that only went up to 100+ but never touch 120 ping

it plays really smooth, smoother than when i was at 40 ping.
(thats actually surprising to me too)

also, i kind of understand if they want to put it in taiwan.
its near china (has one of the biggest gaming population) and giving chance for other far east country to play.

i played with some US troops stationed in japan, and those english teacher who are staying in japan
