Where is my fault?

(xenier) #1

Hi,

i created a simple map (test.map, see attachment test.zip), but when i test it in ET and try to enter the limbo menu, ET freezes. I know that this error occures if the mapcoords don’t fit the map’s real widths. But i am (quite) sure i have entered the values correctly. I also started ET with correct settings:

/sv_pure 0
/g_gametype 2
/developer 1
/devmap test

I have had success with some earlier maps i created by guides and tutorials. But THAT one really makes me MAD

Thx for help, hints …

use Plugins > SunPlug > ET-MapCoordinator (radiant 1.5.0)

(xenier) #3

Thanx, but this doesn’t help much and doesn’t solve the problem. Imho Coords are correct. Maybe someone can test the file…

Thx so far!

(Magic) #4

it works for me

g_gametype 2
sv_pure 0
devmap test

developer 1 - you can run this command in game

(murka) #5

Update to ET ver 2.60(b?)

Thank you very much for this important message! So it was not MY bad!

I tested in 2.55. Maybe that is the reason for failure. Is that a known bug? New maps won’t work in ET 2.55?

Thank you, murka10

(murka) #8

if you don’t have mapco-ords 2.55 will just crash, this is fixed in later versions(and newer ver is always better)

(xenier) #9

Ok. I will install radiant 1.5.0/ET 2.60b and use plugin for Mapcoords from now on. I installed an older verison of radiant cause of the otherwise missing caulk texture.

Thank you all for very helpful information!

(murka) #10

umm, you don’t need the mapco-ords plugin as ET wont crash if you don’t have them, so stick to an early version if you need to(i like 1.4 the most).

(xenier) #11

I understand, but, murka, i HAVE entered the mapcoords and as magic wrote, i did correctly. ET 2.60 b doesn’t require mapcoords at all?

(murka) #12

nope, you only need them if you finish your map, but in the starting stages, its not needed.
